I think it is time to change my intro text. I never really thought I was "overweight". Well... maybe that isn't entirely true - as I kind of guaged myself according to the friends I hung out with - and I was (I thought) about the same size. Then when I went to Cancun with a friend - to celebrate her divorce - when the pictures came back I was so disappointed in the way they turned out...actually the pictures were fine - it was me that was not the best. I finally had to come to the realization that I needed to do something. I have tried many things and nothing seems to work. When I joined Spark I was really impressed with all the "stuff" out on the site. I still have not mastered it all. I lost a few pounds here and there but no major breakthroughs like others had. I have been working on getting my blood pressure regulated and in the course of changing the meds around I have gained another 10 lbs! Since just before the holidays, I have started taking a 2 night a week pilates/yoga class. I have been trying to get in every other day strength training and every other day walking over lunch. To date - have only lost 1/2 lb. I am looking forward to the day that I can be a success story like the ones I have read about - but for now will be happy if I can get back into the "loosing" mode.

I live in the Midwest - Northern IL, on a farm that has been in my family for over 100 years. I am married, have 2 awesome boys - ages 17 and 15.

Other Information:
We have a beagle (Sadie - 5 yrs) and Duke (Walker Coon Hound - 3 months) Duke is adjusting to being a "tripod" due to an unfortunate accident that left his front leg lifeless. It is amazing how animals adapt to their surroundings - he is an inspiration to all of us! We also have 8 cats, 9 chickens, a minature horse, goat and 2 raccoons!

    Thanks for posting on my blog page. I really appreciate your kind words. I know that we all struggle (understatement of the year) every day with this food obsession but since I've been going back to Overeaters Anonymous and regained my abstinence, things have gotten better in the food department. Still have those blue days but don't need to eat over it anymore.

    BTW...tortilla chips and dip (especially salsa) was my "drug of choice" many Saturday afternoons!!!
