January 2018 - I feel like I have to update this because it has literally been a few YEARS since I have been on here. Set backs happen, but they don't have to rule us! So, I am starting again - from about the same place I started last time. I really was successful in reaching my goals and maintained my fitness level for several years before some difficult life events overwhelmed me and I reverted back to old habits. But I'M BACK!

I started becoming active with Sparkpeople in October, 2008 after catching the fitness bug from my daughters who had lost a lot of weight and were looking and feeling great.

It has been an incredible journey! For probably 20 years I had been in denial about my gradual weight gain and hated seeing pictures of myself. It was always a shock as the person I would see in the photographs was just NOT the image I had of myself. I would make excuses that I was just SO unphotogenic and that every picture of me made me look so much heavier than I was (because when I looked in the mirror, that was not what I saw).

I lost 40 lbs. in the first 10 months of my participation in Sparkpeople. I am still 15 lbs. from my goal, but the results of the lifestyle changes that Sparkpeople helped me to achieve so far has been well worth the effort. I don't use even half of the many resources on Spark, but the nutrition tracker has been THE most important tool in helping me reach my goals. That and being part of a good team to help keep me motivated. So, join a team, be accountable to a friend, track what you eat, and enjoy the journey!

I want to keep my joints as flexible as possible.

I want to have better cardio and respiratory endurance.

I want to have stronger muscles.

I want a FLAT belly.


My Program:
I do a combination of nutrition tracking and a variety of exercises including:
Gazelle
Eliptical
Stationary Bike
Exercise Ball
Resistance Bands
