I shall put myself in the centre, and do as much for me as I would for other people. That means treating myself properly, in my food and drink choices, and making the time to exercise.

I have to change my mindset, and stop the all or nothing, be gentle with myself, and also firm. There are times for tough love too! Like just going to the gym to meet up with my friend, even when I'm wiped out after a day's work. The water aerobics does energise me.

I have finally managed to find what seems at the moment to be working for me, and that is what matters. I'll keep doing it, and trust I shall continue in the Right Direction.

I have "met" so many wonderful people here on SP, that it gives quite a lot of meaning to this journey!

Be wiser so that I become healthier, and wealthier would be great too.

My Program:
I am following an adapted 5:2 regime, low calorie twice a week, no alcohol during the week, and being sensible at the weekend.
I have joined a gym, and am doing water aerobics 3 to 4 (or sometiems even 5) times a week. It seems like a lot, but I love it, and the effect it is having on my general wellbeing.

And Sophrology is helping me focus.

Planning a family holiday with my 4, J's 3, plus partners, and the all's well 4 grandchildren. I want to have enough energy to look after the little ones.
Oh, and look fabulous in the photos too!

Looking for a Fun Challenge this Summer? Want to get connected with a Team to support you through your Journey to a Healthier Lifestyle. If yes, then consider joining the BL Challenge that starts early June. Each week 11 teams of 24 Active, do fun nutritional and fitness challenges. The challenges promote a healthy lifestyle and If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. If you decide this might be for you you can leave your name on the waitlist for the Summer challenge. To get to the Challenge go to my page and click on the “BLUE BIGGEST LOSER” Icon, or copy and paste the link below, or let me know and I can send you an invite. Hello Kelpie, emoticon

I took note yesterday that you are a member of the Outdoor People team and I have been away a long while and don't remember if we'd been introduced before. Just read your last blog post and my heart sank and I just knew that I needed to add you too as a Spark friend. I just lost my mom December 15, 2016 to stage IV cancer and my 92 year old dad is also a cancer survivor (so far). I now live with my Dad during this part of his life as I advocate for his life and care as I wade through the last part of my Graduate studies with my broken arm/wrist!

I have a special kind of compassion for your life story.

I lost my mum when I was 4 and my dad passed away while I was overseas.
You are right to give your support to your parents. Will keep you and yours
in my prayers. I was thrilled to see you back on Spark. Do what your heart tells you.
    Lots of hugs and love

You're welcome. My parents never made to elderly; they passed many years ago. I'm glad you had the courage to write such an in-depth blog. Very cathartic I have found when I do the same in my journal. I hope you have a good weekend. ☺
