I'm so glad that you have joined Chas and I in the WWW 2011 Walking Step Forum....I am looking forward to getting to know you and help you commit to your daily walks.....I find that walking is my favorite exercise and miss it when I am unable to get a walk in certain days of the week for one reason or another.....you can make it happen ... when you put your mind to it....I've found myself parking my car farther away from my workplace and even walking to work at times....2.5 miles to one store and 4 miles to another one-way.....I feel so good after walking it makes me SMILE. Try thinking of ways you can get more steps into your day....you'll be amazed on how they add up....Have you invested in a pedometer yet? If not do it...they really make you think about how you can move and add more steps before the end of your day.....Good Luck....and if you have any questions or need motivation....remember I'm out there walking with you. I just wanted to welcome you to Walking, Walking, Walking. We are a very tiny group, but that's ok. :) We share and give each other support on this Spark journey.
You have been a SP member for quite a while so I will not try to tell you about the web site since you probably know as much a I do!! I will tell you that I am here for you. If you post on WWW I will reply.
Just a little of my history. I joined in June of 2008. I had been diagnosed with Diabetes and was so happy to find the tools and support I needed here!! I started walking with a DVD (Actually LESLIE SANSONE dvds). I walk in my livingroom with the dvd going and I can watch tv at the same time!! I try to walk at least an hour or more a day...sometimes early, sometimes late at night.
The other thing I've done is use the nutrition tracker religiously. I set my carbs to 150 a day and my calories at 1500. I pretty well stick to that and try to get a lot of it in protein etc. I have lost 75 pounds and am now below 200 pounds.
You can follow my journey on my Sparkpage. I am at a plateau right now, but never, never give up. I am happy to maintain right now. I know eventually it will start to move down the scale. I was as high as 295 at one point in my life and when I started SP I was 270. I look so different at 195!! I can run and jump!! My face is thinner and people who haven't seen me in a while don't recognize me.
I'm just telling you this so you know that it can be done!! I am a work in progress, but I feel good.
I hope this wasn't too long...I tend to get carried away. I'm glad you joined us ...WWW. chas 4074 days ago
