Ack I changed my introduction and it didn't post! Here we go again: I am going to leave my old information up as it is interesting to see how I[ve changed. I am now 30 years old and have since become an RN (2010), and had a second child (July 2011). I had lost about 50-60 pounds on spark people before and was the lowest weight I had been since middle school! However I got busy with nursing school, then I worked nights for over 2 years. Nights really made it hard because I never had any energy to exercise when I was off work. I lost weight while pregnant but then gained 50 or so pounds AFTER having her! I have been having a hard time getting motivated to lose weight again but my mom recently was diagnosed with diabetes, and I have been having a hard time getting down and up off the floor, I have been feeling weaker, and my joints have been hurting (I think I have arthritis but it is made worse by my weight). Also I have been watching several people lose a lot of weight and I want to get back to that wonderful feeling of being thin! But I am so busy I worry about being able to track the food and come to the website. Also I love food and don't want to have to restrict myself! I need to spend time with my kids, not obsess over my calories and what I should eat, and planning ahead to make sure I'm making good choices. But hopefully I can get past all of this and stick to it this time! After I see some weight loss I'm sure it will motivate me more.

My name is Kim, I'm 27 years old, and I've successfully lost weight on Atkins before (over 70 lbs.). I gained a lot of it back though :(. I went back on Atkins about a month ago. I would like to try to learn to eat "normal" as I hate seeming so picky whenever I go to gatherings or to friends and family's houses. There is so much I can't have on Atkins, but absolutely not being able to have a lot of foods seems to help me. Hopefully I can find a happy medium. I hope Spark people can also help me with the motivation. I'm terrible at getting up and exercising! Also, in case you check my food and fitness trackers, I am trying to stick to tracking them at night, instead of continually logging onto the site during the day. Now that I am pretty good at knowing about how much I can have, and what kinds of foods I should be eating, I just write it all down and I have a ticker count going for water, until it's night time.
I want to get down to 150 pounds, and see how I feel. I always thought I should weigh 125-130, but I don't even know if my body can do that! I have pretty much always been overweight. I haven't been 150 since like....middle school or even elementary school. So I'd like to see how I feel at that weight then maybe go less. I always seem to get to 190 then give up!
I made new mini goals based on 10% weight loss a recent spark article recommended.

August 10th, 2008. I can now say I can lose weight the "normal" way! I'm eating what I want and losing weight! I have learned to eat so much better. I eat a lot less now that I understand how much I should be eating. Also, I am proud to say, that I have been exercising regularly since I joined sparkpeople! I recently bought a few Tae Bo exercise kits when Borders was having a sale, 40% off any dvds, up to 3. I got the Amped kit (5 workouts and an amplifier bar) for 22 bucks, and the bootcamp elite workout (4 workouts and some "billy bands" - resistance bands with weights), for 22 bucks. Great deal! I am loving the amped set. The amplifier bar is just the coolest! Since I have learned to vary my workouts, I am constantly looking forward to my next workout. I also am always looking for new ways to work out, without videos, and am trying to do active stuff with my daughter more. I only work out 3 days a week though, occasionally 4, and I keep telling myself I need to work out more but I am just so busy, with a lot of things going on at once. I definately should have worked out this weekend, cause I totally felt like I could. But I do try to keep active even on my "off days." I think the weekends are my least active days though.
Just a reminder to myself: BE POSITIVE. (I decided today I needed to write this somewhere; STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE. But then I realized even THAT is negative. So I told myself, okay START BEING POSITIVE. I am just a pessimistic person who needs to STOP being pessimistic, and worse-case-scenario thinker. I have faith in God but for some reason I find myself being negative almost all the time! Not just in weight loss though; with everything.

Nov. 14th, 2008 comment: My (fairly) new nickname by a classmate: "Skinny girl."
I am starting to feel truly like a thin person. I know I am not THIN yet but I am at a more "normal" weight and I am finally beginning to feel comfortable in my new appearance. Also I am having less acne issues. I wonder if it is related to my better diet and hydration. I am really beginning to love the new me and am beginning to consider making a new goal of 130 when I reach 150.

My Goals:
First goal (10% of 227): 204 lbs. by July 4th : COMPLETED on June 26th!
Next goal: 184 lbs, by September 5th. I didn't make it! I will be 184 by Oct. 2nd: COMPLETED on Sept. 25th
reward: nice workout "uniform," which you now see pictured in my newest weight loss pictures!
166lbs, (sometime in December, preferably december 18th, so I have time to get a christmas dress) . Goal not met. New goal: 166 by Jan. 8th. No reward since it was late. Not met. New goal: by Feb. 5th I will be 166. I can't seem to stop overdoing it lately! I have no motivation to exercise- I'm having to force myself. I'm just constantly tired, and I have no will to stop myself from overeating many times.
GRRR goal still not met! New goal: 166 by Feb. 26th. Not met. New goal: 166 by March 26th. Okay I'm keeping all the old goals so that I can show that someone who is discouraged from so many unattained goals can STILL bounce back and STILL make new goals and achieve them! New goal: June 4th

My Program:
I'm paying more attention to what I eat, trying to stay within sparkpeople's calorie recommendations, and succeeding usually 5 or 6 days out of every week, and making sure I get enough water. I find the more I lose weight and the healthier I feel, the more I make improvements in how I eat, and the more things I change about my eating habits. I feel like as I get even smaller there will be even more changes I will be making. I'm already starting to feel like I want to cut out (or at least reduce by a lot) processed foods. That will come someday. I also have been feeling lately like I want to stop drinking coffee. I have been drinking only 1 cup every morning, but I'm starting to feel like it's not good for me. I think it's one thing that may be holding me back.
For exercise, I commit to exercising (cardio and strength training on the same days), 3 times a week and then if I can or if I feel up to it, I exercise more. I've started more and more to workout at least 1 or 2 days extra

Personal Information:
I'm from Bremerton, WA. I've been married for 7 years, and I have a soon-to-be 4 year old daughter. I am in my 3rd quarter of the first year of nursing school, and I am loving it! I think I might want to go into pediatric nursing. But I'm still keeping myself open, until I experience all the different areas :)

    Wow!!! you have done amazing on your weight loss! That is a feat considering you are in nursing school. I have heard so many times don't even bother trying while in school. But you are proving everyone wrong LOL!

    Hey Kim!

    Looks like your doing super especially having lost all that weight while in "nursing" school! Your not far from goal...keep it movin'! Well, I hadn't heard from you in a while so thought i'd check in. Hope all is going well with school.

    I can't believe it, after i receive one of my final class scores, i will be on to my very LAST nursing class! Then graduate (hands up in prayer) on June 9th. Now if I could just make some head-way in the weight loss dept. I'm still trying to pull off some of the weight before graduation and just to be healthy. I'm working now and have to wear scrubs so they are still my motivation to keep busy. :)
