I love ice cream. I love pasta. In fact, I love just about ANYTHING with lots and lots of carbs. Unfortunately, the older I get, the harder it is to lose weight and keep it off. And it becomes even more difficult if I don't exercise- which I rarely do. That is, until now!

I'm here because, basically, I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I want to be better-disciplined so that I will be healthier spiritually and physically. No more excuses! Life is too wonderful and precious a gift and I don't want to take it for granted. I hope to introduce the site to my husband as well so we can motivate one another to live a healthier lifestyle.

Fitness Minutes: 1,145

My Goals:
Pray, read God's Word and have a devotional time daily.

Become more disciplined in using the time the Lord gives me each day.

Drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Exercise 30 minutes a day.

Eat healthier/become acutely aware of what I'm stuffing in my face.

Go to bed one hour earlier.

Be an encourager and motivator to my husband.

Spend more time in outdoor activities. I would especially like to learn to use my 3 yr old GPS unit Christmas gift which stills sits its original box in my nightstand. I've always wanted to try geocaching but the unit overwhelmed me when I first received it and so there it sits.




My Program:
Go to bed one hour earlier each night. This is a difficult task for me
because I struggle with insomnia.

Drink 8 glasses of water a day. Now if I can just figure out how to do this and not have to get up to use the bathroom at night...

Exercise 30 minutes per day, 5x a week.

Eat more veggies, fruit and whole grains, and cutting way back on processed sugar.

Smaller portions and NO second helpings!

Stop eating after 8 pm. (Yes, ice cream, that includes you.)

I work pt as a church secretary, and pt as an order entry clerk.

I have been married to my husband and best friend for 26 1/2 years.

I have two wonderful sons and one beautiful daughter-in-law.

I'm passionate about:

Serving my God who, solely by His incomprehensible grace alone, chose to save a wretch like me!

My family.

Playing board games.

Movie-watching.

Reading.

Traveling with my husband; preferably to the mountains.

Listening to music and singing great hymns.

    Thank you for the GOODIE. I had to be HONEST about ice cream being my "downfall." BUT, I do well with frozen strawberries, and I even go to Walmart and get a bag of frozen mixed fruit that is four pounds for about $7 in the Frozen Food Section. You can't eat it fast and it does could for the "fruit" servings, so I eat it as a "snack" in the evening. My dd, Maggie uses it to make SMOOTHIES, but I don't like them as well, because drinking them isn't the same as EATING them. Frozen grapes are really good! emoticon
