Hi! I'm Kate, 19 years old and I live in Odenton, MD. I go to University of MD Baltimore County, and major in psychology. I work for the Hampton by the airport here while I'm in school. And have been with my boyfriend Thomas, whom I live with, for 3 years. The only people overweight in my family are me, my mother and my grandmother and I swear it's because everyone else was breastfed so naturally feed your young, women, if you want them to remain lean!! I want to lose weight for me, I want to have more energy, feel better about what I eat, and be able to focus on my classes at school instead of how long of a walk it is, or what crappy microwaved food I'm going to eat from the cafeteria. I am aiming to lose 50 pounds and would appreciate any help in the process!

Update: 10/21/08. I'm just about halfway to my goal, started losing a little focus just last week but I'm back on track now. I feel so much better about myself lately. I started at size 18(which were getting tight I might say) and am currently a little floaty in my new 14s. :-)

UPDATE 1/6/09:
I have lost 45 pounds since the beginning of August just about 5 pounds away from my original goal. I have lost 6 inches off my waist, 4 inches off of my hips and 1 inch off of my neck. I fit into a size 12 for the first time since the 7th grade! I am currently 180lbs, back where I was in middle school. I have extended my goal since my original and would like to lose and additional 20 lbs.

My Goals:
-Get to my goal weight of 165.
-Train to run a 5K hopefully aiming for my first race in April/May
-Maintain my calorie range every day.
-Work out at minimum five days a week.

My Program:
To meet my 50 pound challenge I have restricted my calorie limit and portion sizes.

Update: 1/7/09: Upon almost meeting my goal I am still on relatively the same workout routine. I am still doing 30 min. of cardio 5 days weekly. I have added 1-2 days of kickboxing and my twice weekly 60 minutes pilates class.

Personal Information:
I am originally born in Baltimore, MD and now live about 30 minutes outside in Odenton with my boyfriend. I was about 180 when I met my boyfriend and he loved me that chubby and that hasn't changed even though I have gained 50 pounds since those 3 years have passed. He's the one!

Other Information:
I am a full time student at University of Maryland --Baltimore County and I am majoring in psychology. I am on the road to my bachelors and ev entually my masters and would like to work with the soldiers returning from war. Currently I work part time at a Hampton Hotel by the airport here and love it! My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving!! Favorite season is Spring mostly because that means my birthday is coming! Me and my boyfriend Thomas' anniversary is also one of my favorite days of the year and that is Nov. 21st.

    Thank you for the sweet comment on my page. It's those little notes from people who don't even know you that keep you going. Even though we may not know each other, through this site and our common goal - it feels like we do "know" each other a little better.

    You look great girl! You don't even look the same. Do you realize these accomplishments? Wow! Celebrate! You are an inspiration. Keep it up! I bet you've found new energy and happiness from the inner motivation and drive you found that you have.
