It is better to look forward and dream, than look back with regret!
Good Day All! Thanks for taking the time to read my SparkPage.
While trying to decide how to restructure my page, I sat staring wide-eyed and empty headed (something that occurs quite frequently with me) trying to figure out what I wanted to say. What could I write that would grab everyones attention? Then I realized (and no offense) that I didn't really care what grabbed everyones attention, I wanted to write what I thought and felt. That it was my fears and worries about what others thought that helped me to get where I am on the scale today.
I joined SparkPeople quite a while ago, and at first, followed the programs, joined teams, posted messages and logged my food and exercise. However, like many things in my life, I let it go to the wayside. But I'm back now!!
2009 was a year full of change, some good, some bad, some great, and of course some really harsh life experiences. There were times when I didn't know how I was going to get through, or help others get through. But the one thing that I learned, and the most important life lesson, is about how short life can truly be. How every day is as precious as life as a whole.
Being a single mom this last year has been a wonderful growing experience. Thankfully, I am one of the lucky ones, and have a good friendship with my ex-husband. He is an active part in Kassie's life and has been a great support for her.
I am thankful everyday now for the life that I have been given, and for all of the people that become a part of it. People enter our lives for a reason. They might stay a day, a year, or a lifetime. But no matter how long they are there, they are there for a reason. Don't worry about what that reason is, just enjoy the company and learn from them. There are life lessons everywhere, we just have to be open to receive them!
Take care everyone, and I hope you find the joy in life that is out there.

My Goals:
To become more active. To do one form of exercise every day.
To journal and track my food every day.
To look in the mirror and compliment myself on something every day.
My Program:
Food:
I follow the Spark nutritional guide, which has helped out a lot so far. I make adjustments almost every day, but I make sure that I am within my calorie range and that I am obtaining all my necessary nutrients.
Fitness:
I try to bike every night. Some days it is a leisurely 30 minute ride. Other days I am sweating buckets because I take the uphill route. The more stressful day I have, the more I push myself to help relieve the tension. I feel a lot better this way than going to the fridge or junk food cupboard to try and relieve my stress.
I have started reading up on the Couch to 5K program. I'm really scared to try it, and haven't yet.....but I will. II will keep ya posted.
Personal Information:
I live in a small community in Northwestern Ontario. I had moved to a large city for a couple of years, but discovered I'm a small town girl with outdoor interests. I love fishing and camping - live for the times I can get out to the lake. Winters here get really darn cold. Seriously cold! Last winter we had a week of -42 weather. That was really harsh! But, it makes the -20 weather that we get for about two months, so much more tollerable! And it helps to know that the ice will be super thick for ice fishing.

We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly. I don't know who the author is of that quote. It was told to me once by a friend and I have loved it ever since. If I ever find out, I will post it.
