***UPDATE*** April 7, 2010 - I haven't been on here in ages. Our dial-up connection meant that it took forever just to check my e-mail, and aside from that I've been a busy mommy. My little girl is a rambunxious 2-year-old, and I just had a baby boy on November 21, 2009 (two days after my daughter's birthday!). I have many pregnancy pounds to lose, and not much motivation to add exercise or any kind of special diet into my day. *sigh*


I signed up at Spark in the beginning of 2006 and kept it up for a while, lost some weight and felt really good about myself. Then life got in the way, as it so often does, and my goals fell by the wayside.

The top pic is is me at my thinnest in high school - it taunts me, and I feel I will never be that [unrealistic] size again. I don't have many pictures from that stage in my life because I, um, wasn't eating - and I was pretty much an emotional mess. Arrgh.

I want to get back on track with eating healthily - which means cutting out sugar and limiting portion sizes. I'm already pretty good with adding whole grains, substituting olive oil for butter, things like that. I tend to be an emotional eater, so when I get upset - which is a lot! - I like to satiate my sweet tooth.

When I DO exercise, it tends to be all or nothing. If I miss a day, I beat myself up... and if it's any less that an hour, it's not worth it. Stupid, I know, but I'm a perfectionist to a fault. I would rather work out outdoors if the weather is nice - walking or walk/jogging on my street, which is very hilly; or rollerblading on the bike path. For inclement weather, I have a treadmill (which hasn't found a resting spot, and consequently doesn't get used), and I like to do workout DVDs - Leslie Sansone 3- and 4-miles are my favorite, followed by Tae-Bo and step workouts.

My Goals:
Currently pregnant with #3 so I'm on the fast-track to weight gain! Hoping to stay within a healthy weight and lose it within a respectable amount of time by making healthy food choices.

My Program:
With both of my pregnancies I tipped the scales at 200+lbs. I lost almost all the weight (50+lbs) from kiddos by cutting out refined/processed foods & making healthy choices.

I still struggle with compromising from time to time but I'm much more consistent.

Every now and then I do a Leslie Sansone 3- or 4-mile DVD or use the treadmill, but I get most of my exercising from cleaning the house, going up and downstairs & keeping up with my kiddos.

Try not to think of it as me making you feel better but as me criticizing you for your poor judgement in thinking so. Lol. Okay, kidding aside, though, I bet if we took a vote, I'd win.

    Yeah, I know I don't have to make Micah the same thing. I just hate cooking for myself only. If I could eat protein bars and not worry about all the artificial ingredients, I would!

    My hand are freezing right now. I think I need to wear gloves inside! I can hardly type. It's so windy and cold. But I don't feel like sealing my windows in MARCH, you know? OMG, though. Um, where was I? Oh yeah, I'd love to take a walk! My schedule varies by week but I thnk I have next week's so I can e-mail it to you.
