I think you just have to practice the push-ups until your muscles get used to doing them. But you should take rest days to give your muscles time to build. You may want to have a couple of sessions with a trainer. 1656 days ago

Re: push-ups, the OP is a guy and I'm sure that helps him in the upper-body-strength department. I can't do push-ups but I never really persisted with them. You might look into push-up handles if your wrists hurt doing push-ups. 1656 days ago
