I am having the worst time trying to get this weight off - I did Weight Watchers 4 yrs. ago and it came off fairly easy. I don't know where it all came from this time as I'm a fairly healthy eater, but I hate how I look and feel, so I'm trying again to get the weight off, get in shape, lower my cholesterol and keep my BP low. Hopefully, with the help of this website and my determination, it will happen!

I joined Planet Fitness & just did my first work-out today. My plan is to follow the program they designed for me every other day and on the off days, walk twice a day. Once in the morning by myself - again at night w/the boys.

I'm hoping that the exercise and eating healthy will get me back in shape. I'm glad I quit smoking but I'm depressed w/the extra weight, being out of shape & not having anything fit right. It was time to step it up to another level instead of sitting on the pity pot.

I'm also hoping to turn myself around mentally by working on being in a more positive environment. I need to relearn how to look at my glass as being half-full. The exercise & healthy eating should also help w/this. Learning to accept life as it unfolds is something that's been very hard for me to do in the last year because of so many losses, but it is what it is and something I will never have any control over so I need to learn to roll w/the punches & end up on my feet at the end of the day.

    As I was reading your intro... to your page... I felt like I needed to share with you some of my experience.... when I started at 215 lbs.
    last Aug... I realized to make this work for me I would have to take it each day at a time... so that I could KEEP it off this time and change my life style at the same time.... so in the beginning I committed to 3-5 lbs. a month... and I lost almost 20 lbs... from Aug.. to Jan... 2009

    Jan. 26th (father passed jan. 22nd) I decided to add exercise into my routine... at the time walking was about all i could handle...
    so I got out my pedometer and started walking ... In the beginning I could barely make 3-5,000 steps a day... Now I jog more than I walk and I always have a minimum of 10,000 steps...

    The reason why I share, is cause I thought maybe hearing my story could motivate you into finding something that works for you... and also how KEEPing it Simple has brought me to loosing almost 50 lbs... and walking has made me loose inches, where I am now wearing size 10's from my size 16-18s
