What an adventure life is!!! But here I am... working out, trying new recipes and trying to make being healthy fun! :-)

I am 29... and a youth minister for a church in Scotland....a job that requires I work crazy hours, and have had to learn to work my food and exercise into that schedule!

I have always been overweight, and always hated myself... it wasn't until I learned to love myself, that I cared enough to get healthy!

My Goals:
I want to half my weight by July 1 2013

Start: 275
1 year Spark anniversary: 185
100 pounds lost: March 2013

Goals met:
Do 1 push ups
Do 10 push ups!
Run a 5k without stopping
Run a 10k Without stopping
run 15k without stopping
run 1 mile under 10 minutes
Run 1 mile under 9 minutes
run 5k in under 30 min
Run a half marathon!

Goals to meet:
do 20 pushups
do a pull up
Run a full marathon
run 1 mile under 8 minutes

My Program:
I am pretty good at sticking to my calories. I don't keep junk in the house but don't think of any food as off limits!
I practice calorie banking (eat at my lower limit during the week, and have one day a week to eat whatever I want (within reason!)) This way if I crave something during the week I promise that if I still want it on Saturday ill get it! it keeps me from feeling like I am dieting, and sets me up with something I am willing to stick to long term!

I have joined a gym and tend to spend 60-90 minutes there 5-6 days a week... I love the bike because I can exercise and read, I love the cross trainer because it really gets my heart rate up, and I love the treadmill because running feels like the best measure of progress!

I don't really like the weight machines so I tend to stick to free weights, and various forms of push ups and crunches :-) I love crunches!

Personal Information:
I am a youth worker in Scotland and always on the run! it's been a challenge to plan food on the go, but I have really started to get the hang of it!

    Wow thank you so much for your kind comment! When I joined SparkPeople I saw so many pages that motivated and inspired me and it's always an honor to hear that my page has done that for something else. And I played soccer for 10 years and have now taken up running so I guess I have that and some good genes to credit for my legs! :) Hope you're having a great week!

    I am glad that you have found ideas in my trackers. I try to stay in the middle grounds with things I enjoy and healthy eating. I like the idea of clean eating but know deep down right now that is not entirely for me...once in awhile I need my Charleston Chews lol. Have a great rest of the weekend!
