Hello! I am Jenn. A tall, happy, creative, and fun mother of 5 beautiful children (1 girl and then 4 boys). I have a strong handsome husband who is very active in the outdoors. I am here because I'm tired of worrying whether people are seeing me or my weight. I want to play with my family at the park and not get winded. I want to be healthy!!! I want to have muscles in my arms and legs and have a flat stomach.

This is it! I am never giving up on myself again. I have to make the choice to be consistently healthy or be unhealthy for the rest of my life. I want to be a healthy, fit and happy woman. I want to be a role model for my daughter, and my sons, and know that they are proud of their mom.

More than anything I want to be proud of who I am and how far I have come. I want to be able to look back and see the mountain that I have climbed. I want to learn everything I can from this journey and come out on the other side a smarter, fitter and healthier woman. Here's to me and my renewed sense of self.

Update: July 11, 2008 (Fri)
I started working out with a trainer on Wednesday of this week and I purchased a BodyBugg. I have already lost 1 pound. I love the fact that I eat so many times a day and it's all healthy. I have to log into the website quite a bit during the day to make sure that I am burning the # of calories I need to be and consuming the correct # of calories.

I am so motivated by my trainer, my husband, and my sisters! I know I can do this. I am very excited to have the support of so many people in my life. Even my kids want to know what I'm doing when I have to push the buttons on the Bugg...and on the plus side, they usually eat what I'm eating. Eating healthy is all I want to think about and working out. Getting a membership to the gym down the street has been very helpful. I have been walking there to do my workouts and riding my bike. Woohoo! I am at the bottom of my hill and I'm climbing my way up!

Another Update: Oct 1, 2008
I have lost almost 25 lbs total since I joined SP in May. (Well, over 20 inches also.) I feel so strong physically and mentally. I know when I have eaten too much, whereas before I would just eat because of how I felt. Now I make more of an effort to eat because I am hungry. I am not perfect, but I am doing so much better. I can do things now when I'm working out that I couldn't have even attempted when I first started at the gym and with my trainer. I enjoy life so much more.

My DH has made a lot of changes also. He works out and is seeing a lot of great results, also. Neither of us eat as much or as much garbage as we used to. We aren't perfect, but we have made a lot of positive changes for ourselves, and it's affecting our children in a positive way. They don't eat as much either. Not that they need to lose weight (they are all skinny)....I guess it's a good thing that we have never had a lot of junk food in our house. When you come to our house, it's apples, bananas, and carrots for snacks, oh and graham crackers, peanut butter, etc... Not a whole lot of processed food here. :) Oh, and no soda for us. It's always been: "Would you like some water, or ice water, or how about some lemon water?" :)

Update: June 26, 2009
I've been a slacker here on SP. I've been working out still, but my food is still suffering. If I could lose weight on working out only, I'd be at my goal weight. But unfortunately that isn't the case. So I'll keep plugging along and keep motivating others, and myself, and eventually I'll get to a place where I'm comfortable in my own skin. I'm excited to be back here with others who are doing the same as me. Getting Healthy and making healthy choices a priority. Thanks for reading along in my journey! Never give up!

*Log in each morning and figure out my food for the day.
*Stick to my planned food for the day. *Workout 6 days a week.
*Log in 2-3 times/day to download calorie burn.
