"It all comes back to me, and how I handle things that matters"

My goal will never again center on a specific occasion or event. My goal will never again be a wedding, birthday, vacation, or reunion, only LIFE itself! Putting higher priority on my health, and making time for ME. Doing that will only make me better for the loved ones in my life!

DAILY RENEWALS: My ONLY goal is to strive for the BEST choices I can make, day by day, moment by moment. Moving forward achieving and maintaining healthy weight loss! I will start out each day reminding myself of these healthy choices.

I have to take my choices more seriously....TODAY! TOMORROW comes and goes too quickly...before I know it days turn into weeks, weeks into months, and there I am still in the same situation. I have to stay CONSCIOUS of my goals, on a DAILY BASIS...MOMENT BY MOMENT.

So, here I am, here to do the best I can each and every day using everything I have to MOVE FORWARD with my plan! For ME, that is as REAL and honest as I can be!

My Goals:
Getting REAL and doing whatever it takes to get healthy!! I want to do it the healthy way, and then I want to be DONE with the excess weight...I want to be DONEBEINGAFATTY!

Remind myself EVERY single morning that I am the main reason I am changing my habits, and that I am the ONLY one who I can blame anything on....It ALL begins and ends with ME.

My motto for this one-way trip is still....ONE DAY AT A TIME, but it is also GIVING IT MY BEST EFFORT EVERY DAY!!

My Program:
Consciously and deliberately eating and enjoying healthy foods...taking my time to acknowledge the process of what I am doing.


Drinking more water and reminding myself of all it's benefits.

Working harder at getting enough sleep, and getting quality sleep by not eating or drinking too late in the evening.

Getting more exercise everyday...adding variety.

Not adding pressure where none is needed, but putting more power into my punch in tackling this problem of MINE.

Making every single day count...for myself and my family!

Personal Information:
I am married to my best friend, and we have three beautiful children...all getting older and bigger by the minute! Before I know it, ALL three will be with families of their own (which will also be a joy!).

I love my family sooo much, and they are my world...BUT I do need to start prioritizing ME time for me to succeed!

My faith and spirituality are my core, and what I rely on most.

Other Information:
I love to spend time with family and friends...what we do is not so important to me, as the fact that we share time together.

I love to walk, bike, workout (although I have to regain my edge), read, play games, watch movies, and anything that makes me laugh and have a good time!

    Another gorgeous fall day here too!! I love it. It's getting very colorful. I bundled up more for my morning walk and got hot. It's a little warmer today...or else I'm just warmer which could be with the hot flashing I have going on!! haha!
    Your workout sounds tough. Sounds like a knee killer-ouch. I can't jump around much any more...my knees need gentler motions. Had a nice morning walk and I'm going to go stretch, do some of my back exercises and do some arm strength things. I wish my body wasn't so sore all the time. I swear I need the tin man's oil can everywhere!!!! emoticon emoticon (my pretend spray oil can;-). My goals today are to drink all my water, record every morsel, stay within my calorie range and get to bed by 10. I've been staying up way too late, not good. Have a wonderful day, my friend!!     Insanity workout?!! Sounds HARD-what do you do for it? I just got home from a nice hour walk along Lake Superior....it was invigorating and chilly--brrrrr!! Temps have really gone down the past few days. It's feeling very fall-like!

    So...my fall shape up plan:
    I have been walking with a good friend every T & Th since February, I think....and I walk with a different friend on W--which is great for 3 days of accountability. The friend I walk with on T & Th has many of the same weight loss & exercise goals that I do SOOOOO in August, I proposed to her on one of our walks, as we were both commiserating on how we want to be heatlhier, that we form our own little health club. We already meet regularly so it's perfect for checking in with one another. During several walks we formulated our plan which began last Thursday morning.
    We will share our progress, discuss tweaks, spur the other on, etc. during our weekly walks.
    On Thursdays-weigh in, share if we lost, gained, stayed same and goals/challenges for the upcoming week.
    Examples of goals for this week:
    1. logging food & exercise using My Fitness Pal (has a great free app if you have a smart phone--I don't have a smart phone but am using it on the computer. Tracking is better than Spark, in my opinion!). Keeping track of staying in our calorie zones that are calculated to lose 1-2 lbs per week...MFP does a great job merging your exercise with your food intake for calories in & out --very cool.
    2. strength exercises for arms & abs--at least once this week
    3. begin interval training during our walking --we are starting this tomorrow. We plan to increase our speed for several minutes several times during our walk.
    4. My friend walks with another friend on MWF (so she walks for an hour/5 X per week already. I am working on increasing my cardio workouts to 5-6 times per week rather than my current 3-4.

    It's been nice having the weekly contact and sharing goals with someone in person...without spending $ or starting a new program. It's motivating to tailor it to our individual needs while sharing goals and challenges. We decided on our Tuesday walk that we would do this until New Years, adding goals/challenges each week. For example, we plan to start going to Yoga weekly as our schedules allow and try a dance class or another exercise class (like Zumba) sometime this fall. In January, depending on our fall success--we will assess if we need more pushing or if we are progessing well without additional help. If we need more by then, we are considering finding a personal trainer to help challenge us more--looking into options around here. She had a friend who did this with her husbang and it made many positive changes....SO, we shall see. That's pretty much it!!!
