What I love most about SP is the companionship of people who understand how challenging it is to live a healthy lifestyle, but who keep trying anyway!

We fall down… and we get back up
We fail… and we try again
We have a bad day… and we just start again tomorrow
And as long as we keep on going, and have more good days than bad days… we’ll get there!

I used to be far more self-critical. I used to be so hard on myself when I made a bad choice or a mistake. Well now I realise that I’m not Superwoman after all! I’m just an ordinary soul, going about her ordinary life, and that means facing all the ups and downs with calm patience and a determination to keep on going.

My Goals:
To build a long-term healthy lifestyle.
To maintain a high level of energy and a good mood.
To get stronger, leaner and fitter.

My goals for August 2020:
1. My primary goal is to get over this bug that’s knocked me for six and gradually get back to my normal routines by the end of the month.
2. I don’t have a specific weight loss goal but want to continue the gradual move downwards, always allowing for blips here and there.
3. Maintain good levels of Protein (80g), Fibre (30g), Fruit and Veg (640g)
4. Control Sugars (max 90g)

My Program:
1. Cardio - workout with weights 2 x 45 mins per week
2. Cardio - walk or cycle 3 x 45 mins per week
3. Cardio Challenge, once a week, a different workout each week of the month, between 60 and 180 minutes
4. Pilates 2 x 60 mins per week
5. Yoga 4 x 20 mins per week
6. Physio for various issues 6 x 15 mins per week

Personal Information:
In my 60s, married with grown-up children. I'm interested in crafts, especially knitting and sewing. I enjoy researching new recipes. I like reading too... historical novels, biographies and my most favourite - whodunnits!

My favourite exercise is currently cycling, we are lucky enough to live in a beautiful coastal area with lots of cycle tracks.

I've been with SP since 2007. I love SP for all the information, the inspiration, the encouragement and the support that I've found here. Thank you to everyone who has ever posted a comment on my blog, or responded to one of my posts, or encouraged me in any way. Knowing that we are all working on this challenge together, and helping each other is what keeps me coming back!

Thanks for the blog love about making masks. It helps a lot that my cutting table is in one room (behind closed doors so the cats cannot mess it up) and I have room for the machines and irons to be set up. I do not have to put away and take out every time I want to work on masks.

Thank you so much for your long and encouraging comment on my blog. I’ve ended up with a fair amount of satisfaction, but as a learning experience for the students, it seems from this side as if it must be an impoverished type of learning, but then I teach language so it might be more so than for other subjects. I can understand your daughter’s hesitation. You can’t mix well with the other students.

    The libraries are beautiful!

I am a lark, awake early and I love the solitude of the outdoors at that time of day.
