THE ROAD TO SUCCESS IS THE ONE LESS TRAVELED...
In life, there are no guarantees. The road we're on today may not be the one we started on, long ago....
When I was a young girl, my hopes and dreams were the size of mountains! Through my dreams, I felt destined to become somebody important one day. I was invincible, strong, confident, and more importantly, I was successful!

When I was a young girl, my hopes and dreams were the size of mountains! Through my dreams, I felt destined to become somebody important one day. I was invincible, strong, confident, and more importantly, I was successful!
I'm not sure at what point this all changed, but it did. As life went on, mistakes happened, my self esteem plummeted, and I stopped caring about myself and my dreams. That's when I began to focus my attention on the needs of others. It was a last ditch effort to find some gratification and happiness in my own life. The result of this, however, was that I was never really satisfied, and I continued to gain a huge amount of weight each year, until I finally reached my highest point of 320 pounds.
It wasn't until last year, that I finally began to wonder "why" I continued to live this way. I knew that if I didn't do something about my unhappiness, my weight was going to kill me slowly. I needed change, and I wanted it more than ever! Though I had always tried to find a "reason" for my lack of ability to change, something was different this time. I had suddenly stopped searching for the reason why, and replaced it with the desire to find a solution to my problem. I became serious!!
Now, as the cobwebs are clearing, the answer to my ultimate question has been revealed in a veil of self realization. The answer is: I can change! Nobody is holding me back, but me. I do it out of fear! That is why I find it so important to work on my inner thought processes, as well as my physical self, right now.... Because this is a journey of self awareness that will never end, unless I stop limiting myself!!!
On my road to success, I've stopped driving myself crazy and questioning my abilities. Instead, I have begun to challenge my fears! I need to allow myself to try the things I'm afraid of, before jumping to the conclusion that I just can't do them. Sometimes, I may have to push myself to do this, but like my body, my spirit will become stronger each time that I do!
After all, making changes is more than just telling yourself that you can do something, it's actually BELIEVING IT!

My Goals:
1. To BELIEVE in myself!!!
2. To ignore negative people who do not support me in my weight loss journey.
3. To remain focused, by taking things "one step at a time."
4. To call on friends when times get tough, especially those
who've walked in my shoes.
5. To learn to forgive myself for the small mistakes that I WILL make during my journey, but not to make excuses for them either.
6. To meditate every day.
7. To learn to accept complimets.
8. To realize my own "inner strength" and to use it!
9. To share my accomplishments with my friends.
My Program:
I eat 3-4 small meals a day, but if I'm hungry, I do snack. (Pickles, nuts, popcorn, veggies, fruits, etc.)
*It's all about the choices*
I walk 10 minutes a day, every day, on my treadmill.
I drink 8 glasses of water a day, and I add lemon to my water, frequently.
I limit myself on diet soda's, and I do not drink regular soda, at all! I don't even drink milk, and I rarely drink juice!
Although I mainly drink water, I do occasionally, enjoy some flavored green tea!!
I do not cut everything I love out of my diet. It's moderation for me! LOL
Personal Information:
Yep...You guessed it. My real name is (Julie), and I'm from Indiana. I love children, the color blue, swimming, movies, time with my 4 children and 3 grandchildren, and the holidays. (But not in that order.. LOL) I'm a hopeless romantic, very well mannered, and love to cook. I'm not religious, but very spiritual, and hate to exercise. (I do like walking though) I'm always reaching out to those in need. I'm a "giver" to a fault... meaning sometimes I forget that I am important too. And lastly, but most importantly, I do have a sense of humor, which I feel is very important to maintain one's sanity in this cruel, "rushed" world.
Other Information:
I love to write children's stories, short stories, and poetry. I have a dream to become a published writer, one day.
I've also been a foster parent since July 2007, and I've had two sets of twins so far. (girls)
