My spark journey...
I have been a member of spark people since April 2009 - since then I have managed to lose 25 lbs (my start weight was 167lbs) with the help of lots of exercise and a healthy nutritional intake.

I love the spark community and am thankful to all the friends I have made here who have helped me along this journey with their advice, encouragement and motivation.

My plan for 2019 is to reduce weight by at least 14lbs- with the help of spark people and my fellow cloverleaf 5% challenge team members. The weight has been creeping up gradually over the past year!!

Fitness Minutes: 116,148

My Goals:
To lose 5% of current weight over the next 8 weeks

To stick to a structured plan.

To become more toned.

My Program:

Walk at least 30 minutes on 6 days per week.

Eat more fruit and vegetables - 3-5 portions per day.
Eat less chocolate!

Personal Information:
I am 49, married and have 2 boys aged 17 and 14.
We live in a village in Derbyshire, UK. There is a windmill in our village!
We adopted Kiba from the RSPCA 2 years ago - he helps me with my daily exercise! We have been finding more places not too far away to take him on longer walks.

Other Information:
I love reading both paperbacks and my kindle. I enjoy taking part in a reading challenge on Goodreads called Around the Year in 52 books which encourages you to choose a book from a different genre each week.
I have been a member of a 'rock choir' for 3 years now - it is a great way to meet and make new friends. Last year we recorded some songs at the famous Abbey road studios in London! In March we took part in a workshop learning the harmonies for Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen which was great fun!

I rejoined the national trust last year and have enjoyed visiting historic houses.

The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of June. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges. These challenges can be modified to fit individual needs, allowing members of all abilities and dietary needs to participate.

Here are some of the members comments written on a Survey Monkey poll:

“It helps me stay focused on my goals. It also keeps things interesting and not boring.”

“I find that the challenges make me be more cognizant of my food intake, better choices etc. The fitness ones encourage me to try new exercises and to keep doing exercises. I think there is a good possibility I wouldnt do as much if I didnt track it for challenges or tried to do better on challenges”

“My leaders are all wonderful...they stay in touch with team members and do their best to keep us involved and feeling a part of the team.”

“They motivate me to eat healthier and to be more active. “
