I use the SparkChallenges to motivate me to
better health! My new Fitbit step counting of 11K steps a day is my reachable goal! For the past 11 years, I have lived and worked the Spark Program.
I am thrilled at the changes in my life. I recently added a once a month phone conference with a Diabetic Dietitian, and I healthier, happier, and reaching new goals! I am the team leader of the Small Steps & the Green Smoothies Spark Teams, and I learn something new about health every day. I write a short blog every day, and many wonderful SparkFriends read them, and comment on my journey to health and wholeness. The best is here now, and I will continue to grow! 2019
will be the best year of my life!
I'm learning new skills like meditation and using my elliptical machine.
Consistency is key! My doctor told me that if I keep my A1C at the current level, I will be able to get off the Metformin next year.
I am focusing on my new objectives!
1. Getting off T2D medication. My Primary Care Physician told me that if I keep my blood sugar levels low and have another low A1C in April, he will consider taking me off of the Metformin.
2. Naturally lowering my blood pressure. I am doing more with meditation in hopes of getting off of my BP medication Metropolol. I am also starting a regime of drinking hibiscus tea.
3 My husband and I do yoga every night
4. I don't have a good weight lifting program. I have a few weights at home. I'd like to find an affordable way to improve my weightlifting regime.
Work the plan every day, and the plan will work for you! I do take a few cheat days, but get back on track ASAP!
I hope that my blogs help you on your journey! I am stronger for writing them.
Often, I adjust my plan to keep up with my changing life. I'm changing for the better

My Goals:
I was diagnosed on 1-3-11. My life has changed as I am taking control of my health by making better food choices.
I plan to hike Mt Monadnock with my grandkids this summer. I work hard at getting in my daily walk, bike ride or kayak ride and stretches. I also lift weights 3xs a week.
I want to see my blood sugar levels at 110-120 every morning. I'm getting there!


My Program:
I am a walker, a kayaker and a hiker. I am gearing up to volunteer this summer 2018 with the AMC, helping people hike in the White Mountains. I also plan to hike in Colorado, and hope to hike in Spain. I eat a low carb diet in order to control Type II Diabetes. It's working! I'm stronger and more confident! Thank you Lord Jesus!

I am a Special Education School teacher in Stoddard, NH. I am a Gramma, and I love God, life, friends and family. I also love to sew quilts and crafts.

    I read the book when I was recovering from a lengthy illness. I have problems related to stress so I still use most of the recommendations in the book. The things that were most helpful to me were the breathing exercises, the news fasts, the tonics, avoiding processed foods, the water system, green tea, exercise, flowers, music, nature, and museums. I still eat broccoli and fish twice a week, ginger, garlic, greens. I take flax meal daily. I can't use soy due to thyroid problems and grains due to gluten intolerance and hypoglycemia and didn't have access to a sauna but I wish I did.. Since I am not around people a lot I don't that much vitamin c any more but I do take 1000-2000mg a day. I got rid of my electric blanket and electric clock. It helped me to recognize toxic relationships and to eliminate them or keep them to a minimum. I surround myself now with people like me who want to be happy. I would include you in that group. Have a wonderful day!!
