2/4/16 I'M BACK!!! and ready to do this again!! In 2007, I lost over 90 pounds in 1 year (see progress listed below) simply by portion control and 30 minutes of low impact exercise 5 times a week. I managed to maintain most of the loss for a couple of years. THEN, 2009 came along and BAM!! Life got my focus all clouded up. I was pregnant. I quit exercising for fear of losing the baby, began "eating for two" (although I KNOW that is an excuse to eat more than needed, it seemed OKAY at the time), and also earned a Master's degree and changed careers to teaching. Slowly, I gained almost all of the lost weight back. NOW -I ALREADY KNOW I CAN!! SO, LET'S DO THIS!

" Don't eat when you're not hungry!
Don't eat because someone else is eating!
Don't eat because it is there!
Don't eat because you paid for it!
Don't eat because it is free! "
Borrowed from Sheila - SCAROUSEL1.

I fall into all of these reasons and I find it is so easy to talk myself into eating for these reasons. I must learn to talk myself out of eating for these reasons!

My progress: First time
01/05/07 - 243 lbs
02/02/07 - 230.1 lbs
03/02/07 - 221.7 lbs
04/06/07 - 215.3 lbs
05/04/07 - 209.3 lbs
06/01/07 - 202.6 lbs
07/09/07 - 190.6 lbs (under 200-YAY!)
08/10/07 - 182.6 lbs
09/07/07 - 178.8 lbs-worst month for loss yet-plateau??
10/05/07 - 172.6 lbs
11/09/07 - 160.2 lbs
12/07/07 - 156.6 lbs
01/11/08 - 152.8 lbs -lost 90 lbs in 1 year! Getting close to goal, loss is slowing. - plus doesn't help that I've been snacking more! Eating for the reasons listed above - must stop!

06/18/08 - fluctuating, but maintaining around 152.8

Round 2:
2/4/16- (Starting over) - 220.8

Fitness Minutes: 10,110

My Goals:
I am trying to reach my long-term goal of losing about 70 pounds by setting short-term goals of 10 pounds at a time.

My Program:
I am walking at least 1 mile per day (on feel good days, I'll do 2) at a fast pace 5x per week. Some days this is done with the Walk Away the Pounds video. Plan to incorporate a little strength training 3x per week.

Eating plan - start out calorie counting. Eat foods I like, but strict portion control. Plan to eat healthier foods by changing only one habit per every couple weeks.

Personal Information:
Name: Jennifer

Location: Western KY

Status: Married

Children: 2

Other Information:
My husband and I are avid hunters. We eat a lot of wild game and save on our grocery bill, or, maybe not due to the hunting equipment expenses. Oh well... we enjoy it.

Hi. I just read your success and how you got there. I was truly impressed and will try to incorporate a lot of the things you have mentioned into my routine. For me no matter what I've been doing, nothing works, and then when I walk more, or mow the lawn (there is a lot of it) I gain and not lose... so I'm really lacking motivation.

Jennifer; we don't know each other; I just joined and received an email from you about being away from KY team due to life changes and I immediately related because not so long ago I was in the same boat. I sold my house and moved in to a new one in 2008; changed jobs; finished school; and had a baby - he's now 3. AND he was born on 1/3; AND I had an emergency C-section. I'm not making this up...crazy huh?

Anyway I have MANY pounds to lose; over 100; and I set my first goal at 17lbs in 90 days. I am glad to hear you are doing well and I hope the baby is healthy & happy. Nice to meet you -- hang in there. It's refreshing to see a story like yours I can relate to. If you lost it before I'm sure you can do it again!
