Hey there... from Texas,

I have been with SP for a few years but really got a jump-start from swimsuit bootcamp. I hit the half-century mark age-wise this past April (08), and I want to keep my body from deteriorating. I also want my family to become more atuned to health and fitness...even if it is by osmosis.

SP has the best videos and exercises to fit in anytime. You don't have to waste time with traveling to a gym, and you can split your workouts in any way that works. What a deal!

Now that our family has been working out on the Wii Fit, our home has become an even better gym. I can't wait until they come out with something else similar to Wii Fit.

I have been discovering so much more on Spark. I have the Spark page as part of my home page which helps me build my days closer to a healthy lifetyle.

For now, adios...and best of luck with finding the treaures hidden in Spark People.

My Goals:
My goals are to use portion control, develop food constraint at buffet-style or potluck meaks, to maintain daily exercise even if it is not substantial, and to eat a healthy diet in spite what my family eats.

My Program:
Breakfast and lunch on my own are small portions of healthy food, when I work out I use weights and use SP videos. I am working on drinking enough water, and I constantly look for red meat substitutions.

Personal Information:
I am originally from El Paso (desert Southwest) but right now my husband, kids, and I are stuck living in a suburb of Houston. My brothers, sisters, and mom are spead from Illinois, El Paso, and California.

Other Information:
At a high school assembly, I remember seeing a 60-year-old woman walking on her hands, and I told myself I wanted to be in that shape when I was that age.

Hi Just me again dropping by to see how your week went!

    40 Tips for Better Life - 2009
    1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
    2. Sit in sile nce for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.
    3. Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep.
    4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today.'
    5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
    6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.
    7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, tai chi, and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.
    8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.
    9. Dream more while you are awake.
    10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
    11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
    12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
    13. Clear clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.
    14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
    5. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Prob lems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
    16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
    17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.
    18. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
    19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
    20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
    21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
    22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
    23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
    24. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
    25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'
    26. Forgive everyone for everything.
    27. What other people think of you is none of your business.
    28. GOD heals almost everything.
    29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
    30. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your fr iends will. Stay in touch.
    31. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
    32. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
    33. The best is yet to come.
    34. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
    35. Do the right thing!
    36. Call your family often. (Or email them to death!!!) Hey I'm think'n of ya! =)
    37. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.
    38. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
    39. Enjoy the ride. Remember this is not Disney World and you certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.
    40. Please Forward this to everyone you care about.

May your troubles be less, May your blessings be more, May nothing but happiness come through your door!

Have a great week. Teri1 co-leader Healthy Natural Supplements & Food Team

    emoticon Hi

Just thought I’d pop in and see what’s going on in your neck of the woods! Come by the team sometime and let us know how you are doing!

Here’s a good tip I found for: MUSTARD BOTTLE DRESSING

Don’t throw away empty Dijon or brown mustard containers. The little bit of mustard containers. The little bit of mustard that remains inside can easily be turned into a delicious honey-mustard salad dressing. Just add red wine vinegar, salt, pepper and a little honey to the container. Shake it, then add some olive oil and shake it again. It’s ready to serve.

    Here’s some food for thought:

You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction you are heading immediately!

As long as you’re willing to change your direction, you can reach absolutely and destination! The key? You need to be ‘willing’ to change.

emoticon Hope you have a wonderful day! emoticon

    Hugs and good health~Dusty emoticon

Just dropping by to say Hi ! See how your week has been and if there is anything I can do just let me know. Happy Valentines Day.
A special sparkfriend sent this to me and I thought I would share

    Why God Made Friends

God made the world with a heart full of love
Then He looked down from Heaven above,
And saw that we all need a helping hand,
Someone to share with, who'll understand.
He made special people to see us through
    The glad times and the sad times, too;
A person on whom we can always depend,
Someone we can call a friend.
God made friends so we'll carry a part
Of His perfect love in all our hearts.

    Hello again!

emoticon If you like to send greeting cards or have a date night in honor of Valentine’s day, you are not alone. These two activities top the list of favorite ways to celebrate the holiday in the United States, with 65 percent and 44 percent of households taking part in these activities, respectively, according to Hallmark and the Retail Industry Leaders Association. Valentine’s Day is celebrated not only in the United States, but also in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France and Australia.

emoticon One important thing to remember about being a valentine…it’s about showing someone else how we feel about them; it’s not about the sender but rather the receiver. If you feel so inclined…send someone a valentine and let him/her know they are special!

    emoticon
Whether or not you celebrate Valentine’s Day, I still wish you much happiness and hope that your life is surrounded by those you love!

    Hugs and good health~Dusty emoticon

Hey there JR, Just me again checking to see how you are doing this week? I hope you aren't under the weather as many people are. Depending where you live this time of year is hard to get out and get moving believe me I know. I want to hibernate from November to May every year. Keep up the great work and remember I am here for you. Together we can and will do it.
