OK, so here goes it. I am middleaged woman who now looks in the mirror and gasps "OMG!" or other pleasantries not suitable for this introduction. I never thought I would live to be 40 much less in my middle 40's+, and now my passion for cheese and all things tasty is showing in a very unattractive way. I want to lose 70'bs this year which will put me at the high end of normal for my height, but I know will be a huge accomplishment. I have spent the last 20 years sharing my life with these extra pounds, but now am ready to end the relationship. I know it will be hard, and there will be tears at times, but I am ready to drop them like the bad habits they represent. I hope that with the help of others encouragement and support I can stick with it. I hope also to help other stay on track, though encouragement and support.

My Goals:
I want to lose weight, but also change a lifestyle of emotional eating. I want to not just be at a healthy weight, I want to be physically toned. As a nurse, I want to walk the talk with my patients. It's hypocritical for me to be talking to patients about controlling their diet, and exercise, when I obviously don't appear to be in contol of mine.

My Program:
I am combining cardio (treadmill, eliptical) with stregnth training. I go to a no frills Dojo and have an incredible trainer who is pushing me to give 110%, yet still want to come back. At home I work with a bowflex, balance ball, and free weights. As far as diet, I am using the nutrition tracker, and sticking to a 1200-1400 calorie diet.
