2011 is coming to a close and I feel like it has been a very successful year!

Weight loss was one of my goals, but being healthier was even bigger.

In June I joined a learn-to-run program called No Boundaries through our local Fleet Feet Store! What an AMAZING experience. I was able to train to improve my 5k time, and what I really did through this program was make running a real and permanent part of my life. I now run 4+ times per week.

In September when school started up again and the running program came to an end, I signed up for the 10k program, and wow! Weight started coming off! I am down 21lbs (officially since I went to the doctor's office just this past week), and I am running 5+ miles IN ONE WORKOUT.

Who would have thought?

As winter comes up on us, I am looking to participate in the store's winter running program because I do not want to go back on this! It's the first time in my life that I have actually lost weight.

I'm thinking I will start working on distance training come spring! And maybe another couple of pant sizes too!

My main goal is to get Healthy. I'm going to attempt to run a 5K in September 2009, and maybe I'll lose some weight along the way. Also, I'm trying to make better food choices and not be sucked into the stress/boredom eating that I am so usually accustomed too.
