30 something having battled weight whole life. I commit, then fall off. Try something new and fall off again. Ugh! I love rollercoasters, but not this kind! I keep thinking something will eventually click! So here comes SparkPeople!

10/4, so far so good. I'm in stage 3 now and my first bit of "homework" is to come up with my motivation. I figured putting it here is a good reminder for when I need it!

Most of my motivation is purely due to looks. I'm a big fashion person and like to look stylish. I'm tired of having to shop at the "fat" stores, as stylish as Lane Bryant is now. I look forward to being comfortable next summer, and being able to wear shorts because I no longer will have chub rub between the thighs. Nor will I be embarrassed by my fatty knees. I'd also love to wear a bikini again! Oh yeah, and I've always wanted a belly button ring but never had the stomach for it. So, I want a flat(ter) stomach!

I also want to lose weight for health reasons... normal blood pressure, not needing to take medicine for anything including my inhaler/asthma. I'd love to have tons of energy and feel strong walking all over a city when visiting/on vacation.

And at the end of it all, I'd love to be a good motivator/inspiration to other friends.

Fitness Minutes: 1,042

My Goals:
Would like to lose 40 pounds in the next 6 months. I just want to take a tropical vacation by Spring 08. Don't know where yet. But I really want to feel comfortable in shorts & a bathing suit again.

And I'd love to fit back into some things that I've only worn once or twice. Closet shopping is the best!!! At least I know I'll like what's there! And it's cheap. LOL :)

mini goal - be under 200 by Halloween (my brother in law's wedding) 195 or less would be best!

My Program:
Starting very slowly!
First, get the eating under control. Then I'll start with the exercise.

I am getting a better feel of what I eat through the nutrition tracker. Weekends are still tough.

Finally started working out 9/23. Here's program: do something 6 out of 7 days/wk. At least 3 of those days have to be for 30 min or more. (doing winsor pilates w/circle - has 10, 20, & 50 min workouts. Also Michelle Rotell's 30 min express total body & lower body workouts, which are basically circuit training involving cardio & strength.)

(start) 8/22 = 42
8/30 = 41
9/27 = 38.5 (something must have been wrong here?)
10/26 = 41.5

(start) = 37.5
8/30 = 38
9/27 = 38.5
10/26 = 38

ttl inches lost:
8/22 - 8/30 = 1.75
8/22 - 9/27 = 4.0
9/27 - 10/26 = 5.75

Oh yeah, and music is super important! My husband plays guitar. Rock/metal is of choice. Live shows w/friends is a favorite way of relaxation.
Favorite bands: Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Disturbed, RHCP, Iron Maiden, Gargantua Soul (even though they're officially done), Zeppelin, Pat Benatar, and the list goes on!

    I was updating my Spark page and thought I'd check in on you. You have lost several pounds, I see. That's wonderful. I gained back a few over the holidays (8 lbs). Not too much damage. I've lost 2 of them.
