Hi there, my name is Jennifer and I started my lifestyle change the January 2009. It was not a resolution, but a need to change things. When I started this journey I thought it would be a piece of cake, I learned differently. My first 12 weeks did have me down 22 pounds and 22 total inches. Then I kinda hit a plateau for about 4 months. Now that was frustrating. I started my P90X journey the first week of June 2009 and at the end of my 90 days I had lost 11 pounds and 11 total inches. Then I did gain a few pounds and was struggling to keep it down to 30 pounds lost. I have finally conquered that goal. Now I only have 7 pounds to go til my ultimate goal. I can say that this has been a long hard journey, but I have loved every minute of it. I consider myself to now be a workoutaholic. My fiance' never thought I would get this far. In the past I would do something for a couple of months and if I did not lose or feel better about myself I would just quit. This time I decided to make a commitment to myself. To be healthy and feel good about myself. So far it has worked. I feel awesome. I am feeling more confident in myself. This is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and I will continue to commit to myself.
On October 7, 2009, I ran my first ever 4 mile run. I will make it because I am determined to never quit again. Now, I am training for a Half-Marathon in October 2010. For a person who refused to run, because my body was not made for running, I am sure showing myself who is boss. This is all for a better and happier me and it is working.
I wish everyone the best in their journey to a happier and healthier you.

You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance.

Romans 5:3-5 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

running on your wedding day OMG!!! hehehe

breathing help - humm - to run your best it is suggest you breath deeply - from the bottom of your belly and not the top of your lungs. Your breath while running should not be short. I quite often match my breathing with my steps, breathing out longer then I breath in. When you totally exhale all the air in your lungs you have no choice but to take a deep breath. For me that just naturally happens, for others it's not so easy. gail

don't worry, I knew you were joking about your age. this year I ran a marathon in New Orleans in February. I ran a 1/2 marathon in Halifax Nova Scotia in May. I just ran another half in Barrington Nova Scotia on Sunday. I am planning to participate in a 60 mile relay race in September and another 1/2 marathon in October. what I am most excited about is a 10k in November. the race goes through a vineyard and there will be wine on the hydration tables...and who knows, maybe a 1/2 marathon in Miami in January.
