Married and have 4 children, 3 boys ( 20, 18, 13 ) and 1 girl (10). My goal is to live long enough to walk my daughter down the aisle per her request;-)

Fitness Minutes: 26,650

My Goals:
Goals: to eat healthier and make healthier choices for food selection. Including the snacking area as well.

Follow my training plan and stick with it for the full year and record daily/weekly of what and how I did with the plan.

Be more competitive in the Road Race Cycling season and also the Cyclo Cross Racing season.

Stop making excuses and talk myself out of doing work outs no matter how little of a time I have to get one in .... just do it and adapt the work out routine accordingly.

Work out 5-6 times a week without getting into a burn out syndrome.

My Program:
To follow the guidelines as set forth by the book "The Cyclist Training Bible" by Joe Friel

Strength Train year round vs just off season

Cross Train by running and Cross Country Skiing

Utilize the rollers and trainer more to develop the mileage for the base period for the cycling aspects

Go to spinning classes for the aerobic work outs.

Incorporate a Yoga class and Core class this year.

Personal Information:
I live in Oshkosh, WI. I was born Beaver Dam, WI but have lived in El Paso, Tx (twice); Fort Lewis, Wa (twice); Germany. Yes I was a military brat. I went to UW-Oshkosh and graduated with an undergrad degree in Pre-Law Criminal Justice and Business minor and from Grad school with a MBA.

Other Information:
I coach Recreational soccer. With 4 children I am constantly at some type of sporting event whether it be basketball, swimming, soccer, football, baseball, rugby,softball. It is very hard to find time to exercise and train for my cycling racing season.

I also support and share my wife's passion for doing Triathlons. She is one hell of a competitor and a breast cancer survivor to boot. I hate to admit it but I think she is in better shape then I'll ever be;-)

    Thanks, Jim, for the positive input on my "bone density saga". I do appreciate that very much and I may just take your advice and insist on another scan. I may not get it, but it's probably worth a try. Keep Sparkin', buddy, and good luck on your journey. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! I weighed 135 when I got married.....125 now.....so, IF I CAN, YOU CAN!!!! GO, JIM GO!!!!!!!! emoticon

    Thanks for your comment on my blog. I didn't really mean "skip" meals, but to have a two-hundred calorie snackie instead of a meal. One challenge will be to try to eat some fruit instead of tastier and crunchier snacks, if you get my drift. I am NOT a fruit eater, but I do know it is good for you in many ways, especially when you travel!
