I am now 50 years old. I don't know how that happened! However, I feel just about as good as I did when I turned 40 so I don't have much to complain about. My oldest daughter went to college this fall (fall 2017). While I was very excited for her, I really had a tough time personally with it, and it took my by surprise. Thankfully I took a 12 week class in human resources and sat for the certification test in December 2017. I passed! It was a tough test too. So now I need to take some time to get organized around the house, but I'm not really motivated to do so. I can also tell that I will need to find a new hobby or activity to be involved with before too long. Our other daughter is a sophomore in high school and it will be time for her to leave for college before I know it. So, I am also doing a bit of soul searching.

Update to the update: I am most proud of my spark streak of exercising at least 10 minutes a day for 1000 days!!! It hasn't all been strenuous exercise as walking is one of my favorites. And, there have been times when I have hurt my back that it really has only been 10 minutes, but I have accomplished it.

Update July 2, 2017: I am still a 40+ working mother of two teen age daughters, but I am closer to 50 now (49 to be exact). My most recent accomplishment is that as of June 30, I have exercised for at least 10 minutes a day for 1000 days! My daughter and I walked through a park today to reach that milestone! It's still hard to believe. I have more I'd like to write, but I need to get to bed. I would still like to lose 10 - 15 pounds. Good luck to us all!

My Goals:
My initial goal was to be strong enough to enjoy activities with my family (walking, running, water skiing, biking, etc.). I have met that goal. I have now put on a few pounds and would like to lose them.

I often snore and recently had a sleep study done. It showed that I do not have sleep apnea, which is good. However, I wonder if the snoring would decrease if I lost a few pounds. That is now a new motivation for me.

My Program:
I am not following any specific plan - just trying to track what I eat and eat more freggies. I have a hard time saying no to the sweets and goodies that seem to be everywhere. Part of the problem is that I like to bake and find it a relaxing hobby. Yikes!

Personal Information:
We live on a farm/ranch in central ND. I work doing human resources and administration for a municipal park district. My husband farms and ranches full time. I sometimes wear different hats - my work hat, my mom hat and then my farm/ranch hat as I can sometimes be found helping to work cattle, move cattle, take dinner to the field, check water tanks for the cattle, etc.

As my daughters are getting older and the first one is going to college this fall, I am starting to see how I will have a bit more time on my hands. Maybe it will be easier to commit to taking better care of me!

Other Information:
Here's a tidbit of information about me. Thanks to a challenge on Spark People, I have managed to exercise at least 10 minutes a day for over 1,000 days. Most days I am exercising about 30 minutes, but there have been days where it's only been 10. I never dreamed I make it this many days. Go ahead - if I can do it you can do it too!

Hello Busy Bee. I didn't meet my 5% goal this challenge, but I did lose a little. I messed up the last 2 days by eating out, so I am not eager for tomorrow's weigh-in. I know it is more difficult for me to lose because of medical conditions and medications, so I have got to be more dedicated the next round. I plan to work extra hard to become healthier and hopefully lost a few pounds. Hope you have had a successful challenge. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Most days eating 3 meals isn't a problem then there are days that I'm just not hungry at mealtime especially lunch. That's when I usually make myself a smoothie.
I have enjoyed being clustermates with y'all. I hope everyone had a successful challenge. I won't make my 5% but working on ending challenge with a loss.

Hello Busy Bee! I don't really have a problem with getting 3 meals a day. I always keep healthy meal replacement bars and shakes handy in case something comes up that I have to rush out before meal time. This happens sometimes when Hubby wants me to go somewhere with him right at that moment. emoticon emoticon emoticon
