Hello SparkPeople! It's time to get for real in my life and lose the weight. I just want to be a healthier person starting right NOW. I can't continue on this path for the rest of my life.

My name is J and I have been battling with my weight for the majority of my life - at least 20 years of my life.

I have so many goals to accomplish, yet one of my most important is to become healthier and to reach a healthy weight before it is ultimately to late. I’ve been in denial and excuse mode most of my life and I know it is time to take charge now that I am an adult.

I need to lose alot of weight & to be in a more healthy weight range. At one point that number seemed impossible without the use of bariatric surgery, but with the help of the ladies from my group (women for weightloss), and my family and friends I know I have a chance at accomplishing my goals.

My pictures travel through my path of overweightness :) The first picture was taken on my 12th Birthday and the second was when I was 17 years old, and the last was a recent photo taken on my 23rd Birthday. As you see nothing has really changed about me except for added weight each year.

Reach my goal weight by 2012!



My Program:
Eat every 2-3 hours healthy, whole foods

Exercise at least 5x a week (esp walking)

Sticking with the RIGHT plan.

Cut back on eating out & eat only from the healthier side of the menu.

Monitor my portions.

Water, Water, Water!!!



Personal Information:
Recent UT graduate.

I like to read books by African-America Authors.


Other Information:
As most people looking for motivational partners. Walking partners that are at my same walking level (slow walker) in my area.
