I have been retired now for seven years and live in a quiet area on a pond with my buddy, Oscar. He is always trying to get away to chase the ducks.

My weight keep going up and down. When I am home all day, I can't seem to pass the refrigerator.

I am tired of the roller coaster and this time I will stick to my plan and reach my goals. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I SAID THIS!!!!!!

Since last July, I have been putting on about 2 lbs a month. Slowed down on my exercising and got lazy recording my food.

But, here I am ready to start again. Trying Atkins right now. My doctor told me to cut back on the carbs--so this seems like a good way to start. Keeping track of carbs but also recording food on nutrition tracker so that I don't get other nutrients out of whack. Finishing up first week of induction plan and have actually seen the scale move, so I am encourage. Had a doctor years ago who said any diet works as long as you stick to it.

Using FitBit to track steps. Now I have three sites open on my computer all day: Spark, Fitbit, Atkins.

My Goals:
Lose weight and keep it off.
Increase my water consumption to 10 glasses a day.
Spend less time sitting--move around during the day.
Increase nutrient I seem to be missing in my diet.


My Program:
Keep track of everything I eat.
Water Aerobics twice a week. Body sculpting classes twice a week. Try to increase my steps and miles each day.
Drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday.



Personal Information:
Have lived my whole life in New Jersey. I am a widow and have two grown, married children, and hilarious twin granddaughters. Before retiring, I taught elementary school.


Other Information:
I enjoy traveling, reading, movies, and am a hobby painter. My favorite author is Laura Lippman.
