Hello...
I'm Jen, and I'm here to lose the last 20 pounds and continue getting healthier. I follow a primal/paleo-ish diet and am quite active... these things are helping me reach my goals. I want to look, feel, and perform my best.

UPDATE: I was blessed with a healthy baby boy on 7/6/2012. I was 192 pounds at the time, but reached my pre-pregnancy weight within two months. I'm on track to reach my goals now. Yay!

2014 UPDATE: I've gained some weight back, due to lack of sleep, high stress (and poor stress management) along with too much reliance on processed foods. I feel so much better when I eat whole foods and ignore the usual dietary advice here. You may not agree with me, but that's ok... I'll do what works for me. You do the same. I'll still support you! :)

--- BACK TO THE REGULAR PAGE---

My story:
I have been overweight most of my adult life, despite 10 years of vegetarianism, calorie counting, and exercising until my body gave out. I've naturally moved toward a "primal" diet, still eating lots of veggies, but adding quality animal products (pastured, organic whenever possible).

In 2008-2009, I went from 196 to 165 pounds, with lots of exercise & dietary changes, but in early 2010, I gained some of that back due to medical issues. I've also found that I am gluten intolerant, and have overcome several minor health issues by being wheat-free. I feel much healthier than I have in years, maybe decades cutting out the junk!

Be strong! And smile!

I hope you will find the Thyroid Community beneficial in dealing with your swinging thyroid issue. I have learned a lot from this group especially about being my own advocate with the doctors. This will not be a temporary fix but something you must deal with for the rest of your life. Learn as much as you can and stand up for yourself.

i also just read your post on the sabatoge article and had pretty much the same thing to say. your SO sounds a lot like my EX SO. there are too many people in this world to stay with one who isn't a good match for you. maybe you should find someone new with a healthier more active lifestyle? keep up the good work, and stick to your guns!

I just read your post on "Poll: Has Anyone Ever Sabotaged Your Weight Loss Efforts?", and it seems to me that if your S.O. is serious about your drinking with him more, then he's not very good for you! Your other comments about him suggest that yours is an unhealthy relationship.

I apologize if I have crossed a line, here, but I just felt very compelled to say something. I want to yell, "get out, while you can!"

I used to be married to a man that made mean remarks about my weight, even tho I only weighed 112 lbs., so I really feel for you.
