Introduction Text I recently celebrated my 71st birthday (June 2). I live in Northern Ontario with my husband of 45 years. We have 2 adult children. Our daughter lives about a 13 hour drive from us so it is a treat when she gets home. She is further north than us in a small village of about 300 people in a rather isolated part of the country. She works for the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the office. Our son lives in downtown Toronto which is south of us. He just moved there in early Sept. He works as a chef . The past couple of years my husband and I have traveled to the East coast of Canada as well as the West coast of Canada. A couple of years ago my husband and one of my brothers and I traveled to Scotland for a wonderful 15 days. It was much too short but my brother and I visited where our parents were born and raised. We are presently renovating our small bungalow . What a job! I am a former elementary school teacher. My husband still works part-time out of our home. He does structural steel drafting. He is a Professional Structural Steel Civil Engineer but just does drafting now. That is his idea of slowing down LOL. I've resigned myself to the fact that he will never retire completely. Home renovations seems to be our hobby. We have also been involved with Habitat for Humanity but are dedicating this year to our own home. I am interested in genealogy and have been working on my family tree.

I plan to lose 20 pounds,

I am working on not snacking at night and also in drinking more water. Regular exercise still has to enter the picture. I need to get organized!

I was born in Northern Ontario and after years of moving about we are right back in the North. My husband's job moved us around the country. We lived in several cities and towns and four provinces. Bob and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary on Aug. 8, 2009.
