A mom and full time college student.

I am dealing with:
Osteoarthritis in my neck
Menopause from TAHBSO in 2003
Frequent prednisone use.
Occasional Plantar Fasciitis

I am too young, to feel this old!

I'm lacking consistency because no matter how closely I watch my calories and follow my exercise routine I seem to lose and regain the same 5 to 7 lbs. So, I get frustrated, and quit trying so hard.

I am starting a new approach. I am going to quit worrying about the weight, and instead work on fitness and stamina.

I need to find an accountability partner who can understand the difficulties I am facing, but still push me. Are you up for the job?

My Goals:
My long term goal is to lose 65 lbs. However, overall I really want to regain my health. Being healthy is more important than being fat or being thin.

On August 1, 2009 I should have met my original goal of 135 lbs from when I started sparkpeople. Instead, I am still battling the same 5-7 pounds. On August 4th 2009, we changed my thyroid medication. I am giving up on weight loss, and focusing on fitness and stamina instead.

September 9, 2009 - I am now down 14 lbs, and it's been 72 days since I have smoked a cigarette. My body measurements are going down as well.

My Program:
Eat a balanced diet and DO MY exercise.
Working closely with my doctor.

Every day do one thing that is more positive than the day before.

Personal Information:
I'm 37 yrs old. I'm 5'4. I was always fairly thin (but not healthy)until I was put on long term steroids for a health condition. I gained 100 lbs in a fairly short time frame. That was 8 years ago. About 4 years ago I lost 70 of the pounds I had gained, only to regain 35 of them again. This time I want to lose 65 lbs and keep it off while getting healthy.

In December 2007 I had to go on steroids yet again. Luckily this time it wasn't long term.

July 16 2008 - on steroids yet again. No idea how long I'll have to take them this time.

November 2008 - dropping weight steadily, but part of it is due to stress.

May 2009 - Regained the lost weight. On steroids again. Ugh!

June 30 2009 - I quit smoking!

July 23 2009 - 23 Days since I have smoked. Once again, regained the dreaded 5 lbs I keep losing. Really frustrated because if I could have lost like I should have, I would be in the 140 lbs range about now.

Change doesn't just happen, you have to make it happen.

What you are today is the result of decisions you made yesterday; what you will be tomorrow will be the result of decisions you make today.' It all comes down to choices. Choices we made in the past got us to the point we are now. Choices we make now will decide what we will be in the future.

    I hope you're still Sparking! If you haven't been around, I hope you get notice of this comment. I was horrified when I found that link. omg, you're not the only friend I'd missed.

    How are you doing? Are you still a former smoker? WooHoo! Are you having to take prednisone again? That stuff can kick your butt, how much that's true is dose-dependent. I've had to take it short-term before, up to 60 mg a day- fortunately, I was too sick to be really hungry while I was at that dose!

    It will be extra special to see you now on my Friend Feed!

    Welcome to the place that helps me read between the lines. I have afew problems but I find solutions gradually. I see alot of nutrients that the docs claim I make enough of but I still seem to feel less than good. Look into CoQ10, L-carnitine, 5-HTP, omega-3 vitamin "E", and a full vitamin "B" complex. These body beauties are sort of made in the body and we can stop making the volume we need so these may help put your smile back. Talk to a natural guide before taking anything.     No worries!! I lost 12lbs. I am going to start again after my bday which is 8-7. I will start that monday 8-10. How are you coming along?
