I am using this as my "Before" Photo. The tight swimming shirt helps me see where I need to go...

I know it is a bit self centered to give myself a trophy but I feel so much better all the time with the changes I have already made. I feel better, can be more active with less effort and I am proud of the way I feel. Congrats J-Dog!

This is me and my friend "Gumby" after a 37 mile hike. This reminds me of what I am capable of.

I have been on the "get healthier" band wagon a few times already but always succumb to my own excuses for why I fall off (too busy at work, got married, took a new job, moved, blah blah blah...) This time I really need to make it stick. I am larger than I have ever been and am seeing myself getting depressed about it and that has never happened before. I have always been large and was content to blame it on my asthma making physical activity difficult. I can't let that own me anymore so I have to make changes. I want to be healthy enough to play soccer with my kids (when I have them) and to be able to see them grow old. I want to be more active and do active things for fun.

My Goals:
I would like to be back to my weight that I was the last time I went astray before my birthday. I felt better, I was able to do more, and I have boxes and boxes of clothes (some of which are brand new) for a person buried 50 lbs inside of me. I am assiting a friend coach his kids soccer teams in the fall and need to be in better shape. When I meet that Goal, I will set another but for me, taking weight loss 50lbs at a time works better than 100.

My Program:
My Program is simple: eat better, be more active.

I am cutting out processed foods, eating more organic foods, more fruits and vegetables, taking my lunch to work, sticking to healthy options (and allowing treats).

I am walking at work when I can, tracking my fittness, trying to walk at least 5 miles a week (for motivation), playing Soccer with a friend at least once a week, doing more active things with my Wife on the weekends and trying to mix in little bits of physical activity into my daily life.

Personal Information:
My name is Jason and I am married to a wonderful supportive wife who is with me for the long haul so that we can help each other achieve our goals.
