Hi Tiffany - thank you for your apology - it was not necessary, but I appreciate it. I'm glad you clarified what you were saying. In II Corinthians 12:7-10, Paul says he was given a "thorn in his flesh" -

"Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, โ€œMy grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.โ€ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christโ€™s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christโ€™s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

I guess the above scripture is what I was thinking about when I made my post. The other part of scripture that came to me was from John 9 - The blind man and the disciples asking who sinned, the man or his parents. Jesus responded -

"As Jesus went along, he saw a man who was blind. He had been blind since he was born. 2 Jesusโ€™ disciples asked him, โ€œRabbi, who sinned? Was this man born blind because he sinned? Or did his parents sin?โ€3 โ€œIt isnโ€™t because this man sinned,โ€ said Jesus. โ€œIt isnโ€™t because his parents sinned. He was born blind so that Godโ€™s power could be shown by whatโ€™s going to happen. 4 While it is still day, we must do the works of the one who sent me. Night is coming. Then no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.โ€

Jesus response was to show us that in spite of hardships, trials, burdens - if we continue on our path with Him, our afflictions will give Him glory.

And yes, we can do all things thru Christ who strengthens us, but we can never think that just because now we are Christian, we will not face hardships, Jesus never promises us that - I Peter 1:6-7 -
"In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ"

And in II Corinthians 1:3-5 says -
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ."

I just wanted to share those parts of scripture that came to me and I so appreciate you taking the time to respond not only to me, but to clarify in your post on the community feed! God Bless you!!
