Thanks for your encouragement. I too did not want to accept the diagnosis. Sometimes I find myself rebelling but it passes

Go for it, losing weight before surgery, i understand completely. I did not mean to offend any one. I know i gained about 30 pounds after being diagnosed with CKD ,and having meds i never had before and changing my way of eating, totally knocked me for a loop. I am learning more about holistic healing. I believe this along with organic eating has helped me so very much. What i meant was that at first i believe i was concentrating on weight loss instead of my health. I was scared, i did not know a thing about Kidney Disease, I could not believe this had happened to me. Accepting CKD was hard to do. My kidney Dr. made me realize how serious the situation was. I then started doing research on CKD and started concentrating on me for once. Hope things work out for you. emoticon emoticon Caroline

Everyone has their own crosses to bear. At present my it is dealing with my weight. I came to the conclusion some time ago that I never had a weight problem until I tried to lose weight. That's when the spiral began. The fact that I have to weigh everyday does not help (It works on the psyche terribly). Since starting pd I have gained a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Which is one reason I am concerned about my weight. It may have seemed like I was whining, as I am not a whiner. But knowing where I was less than a year ago and where I am now; losing the weight has become a personal hurdle to overcome. Also before a transplant I would like to get ride of the excess weight if I can because I believe it would help regarding surgery as well as the recovery period.
    PS Thanks for the encouragement.
