AH, can't wait to arrive at the Gypsy Camp for the Summer!! So many fun activities & fun with art & magikal arts!! I also need to focus on some "self-care" this Summer!!

I think that it is reasonable to lose 10# by the end of Summer camp!! Starting at 271.8#!! Now if I lose 10# by the end of Camp, I would be at 261.8#!! I BELIEVE that is doable!!!! {{I am coming from total couch potato, minimal physical activity, stuff my face continually, hiding in the forest, kind of place!!!!}}

To that end, here is MY SUMMER CHALLENGE COMMITMENT:

Consistency will be my key word!! I will exercise daily for a minimum of 10 minutes!! I will follow the "MyPlate" guidelines with my physician's recommendations added!! I will watch my calories & portion sizes & measure my food!! I will track my food!!

I realize that to most of you, this doesn't sound like much of a commitment, but.........I have been through a lot since my Hubby died!! I have been in a Grief Coma for 8 years!! The most important thing for me right now is consistency!! I am trying to get a normal routine for my life & thanks to Spark, I will be able to do that!! SparkPeople & my Spark friends & sisters have been my lifeline for the last few years!! They are more than my friends, they are my family!!!!

I suppose the best way to put this commitment to you is that I will do my very best to accomplish my goals & to be consistent in doing so!! And.......I am only a SparkMail away from anyone who needs support or help or just a friendly ear to listen!!

My Goals:
1) Eat more fresh food.
2) Cook fresh food more often
3) Follow My Plate Method
4) Curb evening grazing.
5) Lose 10# by September 1st!!


My Program:
I am seeing a DM Nurse Educator & she is directing my care with my Doctor!! I am on a diabetic diet, low carb, high protein to start!! I also got out my copy of "The Spark" & am reading it!! Plus I am using the "My Plate" method!!



Personal Information:
I am a 71yo retired CRN who worked over 30yrs, mostly in Critical Care. Due to the job, I mostly ate only in the evening & fast food. When I married, my husband was a country boy who wanted everything fried & smothered in butter or gravy!! I went from 165# up to 327# . I had GBS in 2001, as did my husband, & I lost down to 145# but because I let him dictate how & what we ate, I regained back up to the 271.8# I weigh now!! I listened to others & did not attend nutrition classes or follow the eating plan & so now I can almost eat as much as a normal person!! I have stretched my stomach pouch!! I really want to lose now because I am feeling miserable & my health is suffering!! My doc is excited that I am here!!


Other Information:
I never had kids so my 2 boy puppydoodles are my "kids"!! They are mini schnauzers, brothers from same litter, & rescue dogs!! Hunter is a bit of a bully & Jody is my cuddlebug!! I also have 4 or 5 (depends on who shows up at meals) farm cats!! They are outside cats & one is a feral bob-tail cat!!
