Thanks for the pep talk. We are gonna do this. Don't be nervous about the new semester. I am terrible about eating when I am nervous. That is why the holidays are so bad for me because I eat too much to settle my nerves and all the food is super fattening.

You will get through this. You are a beautiful, smart lady and you will project that to your students. If you feel the need to nervously eat, just get on Spark.

When I am on Spark, blogging, logging, and reading, I am not eating. My hands and mind are busy doing something positive for my weight loss.

I am so used to eating in front of the tv, that I now tinker on my laptop while watching tv to keep from snacking. It really helps.

Exercise is great for stress as well. I feel much more calm after a workout. I hope your knees feel better. Are you able to do some exercise? There are cardio chair exercises on Spark somewhere. You can still burn calories without putting pressure on your knees.

Also, I read somewhere that each pound you lose takes 5 lbs. of pressure off your joints.

I am glad you are here with me to share this journey. We have two weeks left of January. Let's lose 2 lbs.

How are you and how is your new baby dog? I am doing well. Had a rough weekend. Didn't get my exercise in and ate poorly on Saturday night at a restaurant. Tried to eat well but, was too hungry when we got the table and ended up eating rolls with butter...oops!

I am trying to make up for it by cutting a little off my calories each day. Doing better with exercise but, still need to do more.

I am making progress. I can't believe I gained back so much weight over the past year. I am the biggest person in my Zumba class and I have to look at myself in a mirror. I am trying to stay positive but, it is hard when you see a huge fat person jumping around. I just keep telling myself that I am doing better than the others because I am moving around with an extra 110 lbs. on me that they don't have to carry.

I am hoping that with a few good days, I can lose another pound.

    How are you doing?

It was good to hear from you. I am sorry about Kramer. I didn't realize he had passed away. It does help to get a new little one to share your love with. That has helped me in the past when I have lost a beloved pet.

I have been really good about logging my food this week. I have stayed close to my calorie goal. I am having a little trouble at night because I don't fall asleep until late and I get the evil munchies between 10pm and 12am.

I can't seem to get myself to bed until late. I really want to get on some kind of routine to get more sleep. I am unemployed right now and spend most of my time at home or taking care of my son so I don't have a set bedtime. I have always been a "night owl" as you can tell by the time of this post.

I have done pretty well with exercise this week but, I want to do better. I want to exercise everyday but, if I don't make myself put on my workout clothes, some how, I get lazy about working out. I have worked out 3 times this week so far and plan to do a long workout tomorrow to make up for not doing one today.

Have a great weekend and keep me posted on your progress. I would like to lose 8 lbs. for January and 8 lbs. for February. I have 5 more to lose this month to meet my goal.

I took 65 colored paperclips and strung them together to represent the pounds I want to lose this year. I hung it by my pantry door so I can see it every day. I have taken 3 paperclips off and placed them in a small dish so I can see what I have lost along the way. Just an idea that you may want to try.

    Talk to you soon. Hugs.

Happy Wednesday to you, Sparkbuddy! I am doing well. I stayed in my calorie range yesterday and have eaten more fruits and vegetables so far this week. I drank 12 glasses of water on Monday! (I was up all night going to the bathroom. LOL)

I am grocery shopping today and plan to stock up on lots of healthy foods to eat and snack on so that when I feel hungry I can grab something good for me instead of candy or a cookie as I walk past the kitchen. I have eliminated a lot of the junk food in my house so I won't be tempted.

I had gained 5 lbs. over the holidays but, so far this week, I have lost 1 lb. I am not looking back at 2012 which was not a good year for me regarding weight loss. I am focusing on losing 65 lbs. this year. That comes out to 5 1/2 lbs. per month.

I also would like to complete a 10K by the end of the year as well. That is my fitness goal.

We CAN do this! Take it one day at a time and one choice at a time. Remember, you have the power to make the choices and you are worth the effort. "Nothing tastes as good as being fit feels."

Have a great week and stay in touch. Hugs.

Hi Sparkbuddy! Hope you had a wonderful holiday! I enjoyed myself...I gained weight instead of losing but, I pretty much expected that.

I am getting back in the swing of things and when my son goes back to school on Monday, I will be totally committed to my goals for 2013. I plan to lose 65 lbs. this year.

I am getting all the sweets and junk food out of the house and will re-arrange my guest room this week so that I can use my treadmill and ab lounger. I also have a new weight lifting machine in my garage that I will start using to build muscle. The main goal to start, is to walk on my treadmill every single day! I will continue to go to Zumba class twice a week.

I also will focus on logging my food and drinking water. I CAN do this. It is a fresh start and a clear goal I want to focus on. I can already picture myself reaching it. I am motivated and confident that I will succeed.

We can share this goal and keep in touch with each other daily. I promise to be better about that now that the Christmas holiday is over.

Best wishes for a super 2013!
