Let's get fit and fabulous
Hi! A friend told me about this site. We are currently in a weight-loss/fitness challenge - Five of us have banded together to support each other to meet specific goals by May 26th.
Mine is to lose 25-35 pounds, and to run a 5K in 30 minutes or less - which is a challenge as I hate running. But am totally motivated to complete this 5K because I know that as I train for the 5K the pounds should drop off.
Anyway time to explore this site.

My Goals:
My goals are to be fit and fabulous. Actually that means having the strength, stamina and flexibility to do any activity I want. I never want to say "I can't do that because of being overweight or lack of fitness. Or avoiding certain people or situations because I am ashamed of the way I look.
I also have a nine year old daughter that I want to be a healthy role model for. I want her to learn to eat well and be active and not start "dieting" at 12.
My Program:
I work out at a gym by my office a half hour four days a week at lunch. I alternate between elliptical, running & stair stepper.
A half hour of cardio or strength in the morning before work.
1-2 hours of ice skating on Thursday's
Walking 1-1/2 hours on Saturday mornings
Personal Information:
I am a 47 year old mother of four, ranging from 29 to 9, and four grandchildren 5 to brand new.
I live in the beautiful Rocky Mountains which gives me plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities year round.
