~ Time to regroup after summer partying and get serious...cycling, running, weights, snow shoeing, Pilates, yoga...I am up for just about anything...My challenge, to do these things consistently ~ to schedule time to invest in my health. Pack my lunch and stay off the sauce. ha!

    Paleo. Well, I picked up on it from CAROLYN1213, after reading some of her posts on facebook regarding her experience with Paleo. She recommended the book, Practical Paleo, so I ordered it and dug in! This particular book is written in "practical", easy to understand language, includes meal plans for different issues and lots of amazing recipes.

    I can't even begin to express how much better I feel; it's almost impossible to explain. The first week that I was grain, legume and dairy free, the scale dropped by 6 or 7 pounds. Inflammation. As I read the info in the book, it all began to make sense. The pain, the inflammation and how it related to the food I was eating.

    Eating this way has been alot easier than I had thought it would be. My home-life was more than just a little interesting the first week; I honestly thought I'd be single by the week's end - lol - but, alas, no such luck. And since that first week, I've only had one serious melt-down; after 6 six weeks of eating this way, Mark declared "I don't know what you can eat." I lost it; asked him where he'd been for the past six freaking weeks. It was ugly. I'm pretty certain he won't say that again!

    Tomorrow will be a full seven weeks. I can live without grains, legumes & dairy. The payoff (no pain) is worth it!

    Seriously considering signing up for a nearby "Color Me Rad 5K"... just trying to decide if I should do it with one/both sisters in Chicago or Indy or just do the one in Fort Wayne in the fall... tough call ;) I'm down a pound and a half so far this month!! Woo hoo!

    You asked what I do at the pool on my blog today - I swim, do an hour of water aerobics, and then an hour of additional strength training and walking/jogging in the water. I do not stop moving the entire time - we do steps, noodles, paddles, dumbells, etc. We work just about every muscle group in class and any that they skip there, I do on my own.
