~Indygirl’s Taking it to the Next Level!

I’m from the Indianapolis area and I want to take what I’m doing to the next level. I’ve been on SPARKPEOPLE for 10 years as ~indygirl and have lost 235 pounds. I’m ready for a new beginning and lots of new friends!

I’ll still be using my ~indygirl account to blog and help others because it is so well known, but I need personally to go back to the basics to get to the next level.

My Updated Story: (August 2018)
I originally weighed 460. I got down to 210 and began climbing the scale again as I had medication changes and multiple surgeries over the years. By October 13, 2017, I reached 269. That was the day after my right knee replacement and I promised myself that I would accept no more excuses from my inner self. I was going to get my mojo back.

There are two things that apply in getting your mojo. Motivation and Momentum. Motivation is great if you have it. You start out motivated and momentum keeps you going as you see success. Momentum is energy-action. What if you have no motivation? Start with momentum, an action. Do something healthy for yourself. Keep up the momentum. (More healthy actions than unhealthy actions). See the success build and that will cause motivation, which will in turn cause more momentum! Motivation and momentum feed into each other!

You got this! I’m just a hometown girl who figured it out. I’m not some special Oprah like person. I have no magic will power. I was actually bedridden when this all started and I began my change by home physical therapy and lifting shampoo bottles in bed. I worked my way up. I learned that at first what I was eating was 80% of the puzzle, so I started tracking, even when I went over. It kept (keeps) me aware.

Eventually my weight loss led me out of just being bedridden and alone to realizing a dream I thought impossible! I became a certified Health Coach! Me! I know, right? I could have never imagined or believed. It just goes to prove that you should dream big and take little steps.

I have a team on SparkPeople to help anyone who needs it- Team ~Indygirl & NewSparkDebbie, which is to help anyone wanting to lose a lot or a little weight or even the disabled get healthier.
