Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my blog. And I really appreciate your kind and encouraging words. I'm afraid I've pretty much given up the past year and a half. Life has just beaten me down to the point I don't really seem to care anymore, especially regarding weight loss. emoticon

So sorry for the time between. Since walking out on my job last June, it has been one thing after another. I've been fighting since November to get my unemployment, which has been denied in spite of all the appeals, and the management at Target has done nothing but lie about me and my performance there even though I was never written up or even given a warning. I still love Target - just not that particular group of "managers".

The first day of cold weather, my furnace quit working and I had to pull money saved for my extensive dental work out of savings to get it repaired. When Mom passed away on Valentine's Day, it wasn't totally unexpected at almost 96 years of age BUT it also put a stop to the supplemental income she was providing me, which I needed desperately since Target had dropped my hours down to twelve a week - like anybody can pay bills on that.

In the past two months, my A/C quit working (not good in Texas, though gratefully, the weather has been cool most of the time, but that won't last), got a slab leak that flooded my neighbor's yard, the county was supposed to fix it but seven weeks later, I'm still without hot water and then yesterday, my sister and her husband were in East Texas where the tornadoes were. They got caught in a storm and my precious sister (adored by all) didn't make it, in spite of being air lifted to a nearby hospital. Apparently, her internal injuries were too severe and she passed at the hospital.

So, it's been a rough ten months and I probably won't quit crying for the rest of the year. I was still grieving for my mother and now this. I just can't believe it and it's going to be really hard on not only us, her sisters, but her children and grandchildren. This is tough.
