Hello, internet! I'm a 28 year old recent college grad, and I've been struggling with my weight since high school. I managed to lose 40 lbs 2 years ago, but gained it back when I acquired a back injury that pinched my sciatic nerve, which prevented me from exercising and resulted in a year of assorted prescriptions to deal with the pain. I lost about 15 of that again, only to have a terrible exacerbation of my back injury that had me bedridden for 3 days and has put me back on a ton of medications. I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate exercise into my life in a way that doesn't exacerbate my symptoms.

I'm tired of being self conscious about my figure.
I'm tired of feeling out of breath after climbing 2 flights of stairs.
I'm tired of not being able to keep up with my fiancé when we go for walks.
I'm tired of having to shop in special stores for clothes that fit well.
I'm tired of my weight exacerbating my back pain.
I'm tired of seeing the perfect outfit and hating how it looks on me.
I know it's cliche, but I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

So, now it's time to do something about it.

I'm currently at a size 16, and hope to be a 12 by my wedding in September.

My Goals:
Size 14 by April 15

Down 20 lbs by May 20

Down to a size 12 by my wedding on September 8th

Exercise 5 days per week

My Program:
I am aiming for 1200-1600 calories per day and increasing exercise with the SparkPeople 28 day bootcamp.

Personal Information:
I live in Michigan and I just received my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.

I have 2 dogs, 2 a hedgehog, and a snake as pets.

I am a total geek, and I'm ok with that.

    Hey saw that you joined the spine injury spark team and I wanted to say emoticon !
    I had a similar injury as yourself and I had surgery and now I am recovering. The number one thing all of my docs have been telling me is to lose weight to control my back pain so I'm ready to do it :). I know how you feel when it comes to being a yo yo but I think this is our year! I want to get down to a size 10 by January so maybe we can encourage each other. Good luck with everything and if you ever want to swap good (back friendly) exercises let me know!
