I started dieting when I was twelve years old, so I've officially been trying to lose weight for more than half my life. I have succeeded a few times, the more notable times being from anorexia and from low carb. Since I'm fat again obviously neither were sustainable, one moreso than the other (guess which). I lost a bunch of weight calorie counting after both of my kids were born, so I'm giving that another shot. This time I'm combining it with intuitive eating, as well as trying to eat more healthy whole foods. For most of 2008 I weighed 265 pounds, which is more than I weighed when I was nine months pregnant with my first child. Around October it dropped to 259, so I took that as my cue to start getting serious about this again. I lost two pounds on my first week weigh-in on December 8.

A mistake I've made in the past is focusing too much on making a certain weight on a certain date. So I'm not going to do that anymore. Instead I'm focusing on losing the weight and doing it in a sustainable way.
