    My parents do, and I'm staying with them so I sort of do by extension! I actually have a chick asleep on my lap right now... Found him screaming all alone in the barn so he's hanging out with me until we can find him some friends or a mom.

    Thanks for your comment on my blog! Yep, chickens do need dirt and some people even make designated dirt bath locations for their feathered friends. I grew up on a farm with lots of happy, healthy egg layers who were free range...now I'm in suburbia and my baby chicks just became feathered enough to leave the in house brooder and move outdoors. So until now, they've been in a mite free environment. As adults, they also need dirt to eat, strangely enough. It helps them digest their food once they graduate from chick starter to adult food. Who knew? They are so much fun...do you have chickens?
