My screen name means "the die is cast" and metaphorically, there's no turning back. It was something my dad used to say when to nudge me to make the most of what I had.

I am finally getting the habits of maintenance and that means letting go of shortcuts, expectations of rapid change and creating easily repeated healthy patterns. (stock meals to more rapidly track cals and Pennington's 7 nutrients: A, B-6, folate, B-5, calcium , magnesium , iron). After 47 years of yo-yo-ing and binging, patterns are telling.

I am ready for 48 this November, loving the travelling life as I start my 5th contract as a contract therapist. I need good nutrition and exercise to meet the challenge of life in dorms and hotels, and reduce the exposure to road food. I am ready to let go of rookie status and take it to the next level.

I strive to be UNSHAKEABLE in my resolution to healthy.

I am a new juicer and vegetarian, with the possibility of slipping into a vegan lifestyle as well. I dont miss meat and dairy most days. I follow the thrive forward program, focusing on what I am ADDING to my life, and not so much what I have left behind. You know, it is a lot of effort to mow down enough calories and nutrition from veggies alone. I dont know how I could do it without my juicer. The days I dont struggle to squeeze in another late meal are the days I give in to temptation.....

Thank you for adding me as a friend. It is nice to know there are more understanding people in our same situations. You are doing great, keep up the good job! I am doing :)....I think that leaving the expectation of quick weight loss is one of the secrets, but I just hope I am not that old by the time I can finally feel I can enjoy life, or like someone else said in their blog in here (To give myself the permission to do so) Very nice of you to stop by.
