I am soon to be 60 years of age and I have struggled with my weight off and on now for the past few years. I am so unhappy right now with my life and my weight gain. But still I eat my comfort foods. They soothe me when life is holding me down and I fell like there's no sense in trying anymore. Maybe it's ok to be chubby ? The battle rages on.

I am an Environmental Laboratory Technician. I have been married for 41 years now. I 'd like to retire in 4 years.

Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Tonight I just was wondering how you're doing. Strange... out of the blue and for such a long time I just wondered... and came to your page to see whether you're still active in SP. What a sad surprise to read your comment! That you found your husband 'in time' is a joy amidst the anguish. Do be kind to yourself; getting back into SP (would he be willing to do it too?) can help you both stay healthy. I just turned 68 the other day, so I relate to the age comments.

At our stage shedding pounds won't be quick. But....

Wishing you and your hubby wellness.

As some can see, I haven't been on Sparks for some time now. I have lost my battle and resigned to being fat. I recently retired even though I really didn't want to and I am regretting it . But recently my husband had another heart attack , I woke one morning to find him in cardiac arrest , if I hadn't found him he would have died. He just turned 69 and I am 65 now and he counts on me for things he can't do like he use to. Plus his neuropathy has gotten worse, he hasn't driven a car in over 7 months now, I do all the driving and running around . Our rolls have reversed on me , something I didn't see coming until we were much older. I'd like to get back on track and maybe drop a few pounds but I have stopped committing to it, if it happens it happens. I am trying to get back to the gym three times a week , but the weather with temps in the single digits and teens give me an excuse to skip a day here and there. I can feel myself aging , there are so many physical things like lifting heavy things and digging and weeding in my yard that I cannot do like I want to and use to and it really brings me down. Need to get my drive and ambition back before I turn 70.

Hi, new to SP but had to drop by when I saw your user and profile. Hiacynth and her wacky family have been favorite people to watch on BBC for some decades :-). I rarely run into anyone who knows of the show where I've been in life. Thx 4 the smile.

Hello. I am joining today with the hopes of finding some buddy to do a journey with. I am a happily married 61 year old whose weight only seems to go in 1 direction. I am presently sitting at 210 lbs after just finishing an east coast cruise. I am just learning how to navigate this app but am open to any suggestions or help.
