My name is Wendy aka horsewoman7407. I'm 57, married, and I'm a bookkeeper for a small manufacturing company near my home. I love horses but don't any, have two cats, a grown daughter and two grandchildren ages 17 and 14. My weight has been a struggle all of my life. At my highest weight about 16 years ago I weighed over 260 pounds. I'm under 200 pounds now. I want to lose the weight for myself, to be healthy, for better self esteem and to feel good in my skin and my clothes.
Looking for a weight loss buddy to share the journey with me.

orsewoman - i know your pain!! I have thyroid problems too. Last year I got down to goal weight and now it is creeping back on.... I know how you feel about getting discouraged, working out, watching what we eat and still gaining.

I have started telling myself that the exercise is still good for me. That I still gain strength even if I dont lose weight. I try to tell myself all of that.... and sometimes I still get discouraged.

I am here for you. Best wishes on your/our journey to good health.

    Hi, Wendy!
Wow, that is amazing how similar our lives have been! I know, I feel the same way about my history......If it weren't for my past, I wouldn't have my daughters and granddaughter...........God is GOOD!!

So sorry that you had to sell your 5th wheel. Guess I didn't realize how bad things in Michigan had gotten. I was worried about my friends up there when I visited last time. So glad that we moved to Texas, things are so much better here, economically. We bought the used 30 foot 5th wheel last year, got a great deal on it, so it is not costing us anything! TX is one of the most RV friendly states, they say, that is why so many "full timers" make it their home base.

Besides the Sonny Dee Bar horses, I also owned an own daughter of the legendary "Mr. Norfleet" the source of all the Norfleet horses! I picked her up at a sale at Rocky Top Ranch down here in Keller, TX many years ago. She was not yet broke, so I got her fairly reasonably. Kept her a few years and sold her heavy in foal, back to the owner of Mr. Norfleet. I guess she ended up somewhere in Idaho. She was a sweet mare, only liked women, didn't have much use for men!

We own a share in Ocean Canyon properties which I guess is the southern form of what you were in. There are member campgrounds that we can stay in......and other amentities. We hope to take full advantage of that, soon!

So sorry you had to get rid of your horses........I am not Indian but was born with a love of all things equine!

Hi, Wendy! Thanks for the friend add, I added you too. Yes, I was born and raised in Michigan, as were my parents and grandparents. Moving away was a big decision but one that we made for our livelihood at the time. When I graduated from Nursing School (Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan) I could not work in Michigan till I passed my boards. In Texas, I could go to work immediately so that made a huge difference, since my husband at the time was unemployed.

We basically HAD to move to survive. Eventually, we got so we liked it, bought a home (which we hadn't been able to do in MI) and settled in. Plus, I loved the Western Environment and all the superior horseflesh here!

Our stallion IS a great grandson of Sonny Dee Bar, I am impressed that you could see that in him. The filly of his that I am riding is out of my all time favorite mare, a double bred Sonny Dee Bar mare, so that makes my Lexi a triple bred Sonny Dee Bar!
Looking forward to keeping in touch with you, and us learning more from each other! Take Care............. emoticon
