My name is Kristi and I'm 28 years old. I'm married with 2 children-- ages 3 and 1. I want to lose weight and enjoy the last of my 20s in a healthy way!

My highest weight (that I know of) was 235 lbs. on Memorial Day/May 2008. A few (not so subtle) family members made comments that month about my weight and were concerned about my health. It was upsetting at the time, but something clicked and I decided to make changes in my eating habits and my sedentary lifestyle.

From May 26- October 3rd I went from 235-209...counting calories everyday, exercising daily-- cardio on an exercise bike, push-ups, sit-ups, hand weights.....And then I got pregnant for my second child! I ended up with gestational diabetes, which really helped me to stay on a healthy eating pattern. When I gave birth in May of 2009 I was 201 lbs. Then, that summer I pretty much let myself go again and was back up to 220 in December 2009. I decided then that I would get back on the healthy wagon and start fresh. Since December I have not been very consistent but have managed to get back to 207. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO ready to get out of the 200s and enjoy the last couple years of being in my 20s. I want to turn 30 being fit and healthy!! Looking forward to this journey and to meeting people who are doing the same :)

Short term goal: To get from 207 lbs in August to 185 in December.

Long term: To eventually weigh around 145 with an athletic build.

Eat healthy and exercise more!

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Louisiana and come from a family who loves to cook and eat. I'm re-learning that I can still do that but in a healthy way. I want to teach my children the importance of healthy living and by being that example in my own life.

I love gardening, photography, cooking, watching movies, hanging out with friends, playing with and teaching my kids...

    I got to DC two days last week. Lots of walking so that made me happy. Of course that was the only exercise I was able to get in due to what ever bug I had. I do have a date with my treadmill later tonight so that will be good. So you have a 10 yr reunion to get ready for. You will be wonderful, I can feel it.

    Hey! Unfortunately I have been hit with some sort of nasty stomach bug and haven't been able to really do anything since Tuesday night. I am going to DC this weekend to visit the Smithsonian museums to that will give me my cardio if nothing else. I'm hoping that what ever I have goes away soon. On the bright side with me being sick I haven't really been eating so I have probably lost weight, just not in the healthy way. How was the rest of your week?

    Oops. I checked in with the wrong sparkfriend about my weekend emoticon .

    Blogged about it (feel free to read). I did great Friday night, ok Saturday until we went to the drive in Saturday night. I ate way too much kettle corn and it carried over to Sunday. Thankfully I didn't eat any of it Monday and hubby finished it off last night.

    I'm worried about the upcoming weekend because it's a long weekend and I'll be traveling. emoticon
