Hello all!! My name's Sara. I am a single mom who lives with relatives because I work at a dead end job making way below poverty level. For this reason I have decided to go back to school. I am getting a degree in Biology from CCBC and from there I am going to go into Marine Biology and then Ichthyology. I want to study sharks. I have always wanted to be a Marine Biologist, since I was very little - like 6.

Anywho, I have started this weight loss journey because my family has a history of high blood pressure. I am 28 years old and 3 months ago, my blood pressure had started going up. Surprisingly, in the last 3 months, I have gotten my blood pressure to the ideal 120/80 - exactly. Now, I'm just trying to get my weight into check. Also, next year I want to run the River Valley Ranch 5k. I have never done one and it seems fun!!

Fitness Minutes: 22,036

My Goals:
I am trying to get down to pre-baby weight. I have about 50ish lbs to lose to get there.

I am finally going back to college to become a Marine Biologist.

My Program:
Right now I am doing 45 minutes of strength training 3-4 days a week.

I am also walking 1.6-2.3 miles on the days that I don't work.

I am cutting out my fast food intake. Slowly but surely am I getting there. I had the option of getting some yesterday and I didn't do it. It's all a matter of will power!!

Personal Information:
I am originally from Baltimore, MD. At the age of 18 I enlisted in the Navy. I turned 19 in Boot Camp. I used to build underwater mines. That was the best job I have ever had. I have lived in Guam, Virginia, Texas, California, and Florida.

Other Information:
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" - Philippians 4:13. I quote this every time I start and finish my exercise program for the day. It helps me to do it with my whole heart instead of half-heartedly. ;-)

My favorite authors are James Patterson, Emily Griffin (currently reading her brand new one. Pretty good so far) and Mary Higgins Clark .

Favorite TV Shows: Burn Notice; White Collar; CSI; Suits; Hawaii 5-0; The Big Bang Theory.

Favorite Movies: Lord of The Rings extended edition. X-Men; anything Super Hero!!

I wish I had a smart phone so I could use that app. It sounds great! I put on my other pedometer this morning and it is reading 34 steps but I know I took more than that!
