I'm back. Again. I guess that's better than not trying at all.
I lost 30 lbs in 2015 but not due to healthy living.

BUT, I've started running. It is changing my life. I signed up for a C25K in the fall and I ran a 5k Turkey Trot! I'm signed up to run a 5k for St Paddy's Day and I will be training for a 10k in early June.

Been away for awhile. I had foot surgery in Nov (2013) and because of my Diabetes my recovery was less than speedy. Just starting back working out. Need to get back on track and lose the 15 pds that I seem to have grown.

I first joined SP in Sept 2009. You will find my original introduction below. I had lost a total of 30 lbs but I did not successfully change my lifestyle. I gained 20 lbs back. I have succeeded in losing 15 of those 20 and am back on track. Unfortunately, it took an illness and the discovery that I had Type 2 diabetes that propelled me into action.

When I was much younger I was a fairly good athlete. Gymnastics was my life, then soccer then racquetball and aerobics. I could eat whenever and whatever and only had to starve myself for a week and be back to my ideal weight (just the beginning of bad habits).

Getting older and not adapting my lifestyle led me to an obese corner that I didn't often leave.

Now I am ready to come out fighting. I am going to Peru over Xmas and need to be able to walk the Inca Trail!

.... I DID IT! I DID!!!! I hiked the Inca Trail!!!!!

Fitness Minutes: 86,699

My Goals:
Get healthy! NO MEDS BY SUMMER 2013; (changed from summer 2012, I was a bit over optimistic) ; lose average 1 pd per week.

My Program:
My Winter 5% Challenge Commitment.

I will exercise 5-6 days a week. This includes 3 cardio workouts and 3 strength workouts. I walk my dog 20-45 mins daily.

I will track everything I eat and stay within my calorie requirements. I do not follow any particular �diet� but I will increase my fruits & vegetable intake.

I will record my exercise and LGL points daily.

I will weigh in weekly

I will check in daily to read and support my other team members.

I will succeed.

Presently living in Illinois, 56 years old, 3 children in college. We call Chicago suburbs home.
