They say "if you have your health, you have everything". Well, I know there is truth to that because I know what it's like not to have it and that is not fun.I hope by joining this I can have support from others that know what I am dealing with. Here's to healthier living & choices. There has to be help for the disabled when it comes to diets & exercises tailored to their abilities.Positive thinking! What the mind perceives and one believes then you can ACHIEVE !

My Goals:
Eating healthier for the rest of my life.Always being aware of my food choices.Losing all this extra weight I have carried around for too many years now and get to a healthier, slimmer, better me.
Trying to do chair exercises at least 3 times a week
Always stay positive

My Program:
Just reading labels and being aware of the calories and nutrients. Then knowing my BMR I then take in 500 less calories a day from that and this helps me plan on at least losing a pound of fat a week.If I am lucky enough to burn extra calories that is a plus but being disabled is a minor setback.I plan on chair exercises at least 3 times a week and drinking my daily 8 glasses of water a day. Also staying positive.

Personal Information:
I'm a 57 year old disabled RN who now is very limited in my mobility so can't exercise and the weight has piled on.I live in lower Alabama right now but one day will move back to my beloved Mesa Arizona. My 2 grown sons live with me right now and help take care of me.My youngest son is on this journey with me to lose weight.Wish us luck.

Other Information:
I love mystery books and romance and adventure.Music I love most kinds, especially classic rock, oldies, classical, and even country.I love dogs.We have a beautiful fluffy little guy named Horatio.I miss my active life style prior to becoming disabled. Things change though and so I must go a different route now.To believe is to achieve.

LOL. I had a giggle over your comment about being up in the night. I can't make through the night without getting up to pee and least once. My hubby finds this very irritating. He doesn't understand why women have to pee so much. LOL.

Thanks so much for the goodie and the positive comment on my page. You are doing very well! Yes I lost 80 pounds but I got started three years ago. Without a doubt doing it with Spark has been easier and faster, but the first 2+ years were important to my progress. They were the years that I moved from a very unhealthy physical wreck to a moderately fit person. The big thing is always consistency. Working at keeping healthy at a consistent pace. I only lose about 5-6 lbs a month. That is with 1500 to 2000 minutes of exercise per month. Obviously you are not going to be able to do as much exercise as I do. Your results are outstanding! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wonderful to see that you are back and doing fine. CONGRATS on the big weight loss and high-5s to your son too. So glad both of you are on your way to new lives, new health, and so much confidence. That´s what it´s all about...feeling good about yourselves and just plain feeling good. Hope to see more of you now. Have a super week ahead!
    Hugs!

Hi! Yes, been kinda crazy here, too. My son left for basic training (Army) on Monday, so spent a lot of family time and time helping him get what he needed to take with him packed. So, the last ciouple of weeks have been a bit of a blur for me. It was very difficult sending him off, VERY difficult.

But we actually got a 2 min. phone call today! He sounded tired but good. so, he will get assigned to his unit on Tuesday. It was soooo good to hear his voice.

In the meantime, have been trying to keep going. If I let up on the proper exercise or nutrition my blood sugars are NOT happy. So, did pretty well this week considering it was kinda stressful!!!

Take care of yourself. Thanks for stopping by my page, too!
